It does take a fair bit of persistence. I flew MH in J in January (via QR) and BA didn’t award any TPs. I’d been in contact with them since March, and was promised that my case would be dealt with. The updates of “your case is still being dealt with” stopped in July. I then started messaging them on X/Twitter publicly which immediately made them message me to take it private.
Resent them all the details and they promised to resolve it within 28 days. No response after a month. Another Twitter campaign. Finally, someone on Twitter said they could not handle it and asked me to contact Executive Club directly.
To cut a long story short, I just kept at them and in the last few messages I brought up ethics (would have been BA Gold already for a few months if they had counted the TPs) and finally, in late October, I opened my app for check in, and my TP count had changed. It took another day before the app showed Gold. Still no official correspondence from them other than the standard “You’ve upgraded to Gold” email.
It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with BA Customer Services, but just keep at them! Good luck!

Thanks @AJA. The TP has credited for MXP to DOH. Still waiting for DOH to KUL, and the ones back (which I took only 2 days ago).
In any case, with the completion of this roundtrip to KUL, I would have been Silver again. This puts me in good stead for when the new March/April change kicks in. Phew!rooey 13 posts
Hi all,
Just an update for anyone interested (or similar affected). I contacted BA via X (Twitter) and they raised a case for me.After a few back and forth messages, I received this message yesterday: “I’d just like to give you a quick update on your case with our Executive Club team. They’ve reviewed your account and have requested your membership status be upgraded back to Silver”.
I am pleased to say that as of this morning, I am now Silver again! 🙂
So, it is worthwhile persisting. Thanks to everyone for your help!!!! 🙂rooey 13 posts
@AJA you may well be right about this. However, I don’t understand why BA would give out tier points which count towards status only to “discount” them from the overall count. It’s extremely misleading. 🙁

@skywalker
I had 675 points by the time my collection year ended (8 Dec). Those TP reset on the 9th. The BA holiday was after, in mid December. But I’ve only received 80TP bonus so far, despite flying in J both legs and staying a week in a bundled hotel.Since the new collection year started, I’ve flown BA on two return trips (including said holiday). I’ve also flown out to MPX for my trip to Asia, so that’s 5 flights on BA already with the return leg of all trips happening from Tuesday.
My main concern is my Silver status and being able to access lounges while abroad. By default I’ll be able to do so on this trip since I’m flying in QR J. However it was a shock checking in this afternoon for an economy flight when the lady said I was only Ruby and couldn’t enter the lounge.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your quick response. I thought I was going mad. I did fly a lot of BA and not just from holidays. Definitely more than 4 flights on BA metal.
I’ve been checking my app fastidiously to see when the QR TPs would be added (I flew on Jan 31!!!) and as of today, neither leg has added.
For the last BA holiday to Fuerteventura in December, i only received 80 bonus TPs. It’s my understanding i should have received 160 (same for my partner).

Wow. Thanks @JDB. That’s really helpful. Of course I had read as much as I could before posting. It just helps to have a bit more clarity from experienced fliers before I commit to a booking. It is clear to me now that I should stick to only one class to save on taxes. Any suggestions on the best use of 200K Avios? 🙂
