To add to this – Radisson have split their Rewards programme and I enrolled my Platinum benefit for ‘Radisson Rewards’. I then contacted Radisson to ask them to apply the gold status to my Radisson America Rewards account, and they refused.

I contacted Amex Plat yesterday to ask them to enrol me into the 2nd programme, the agent took it away with my full Americas account number and talked to their back office team then called me back today and advised they have enrolled me into the Americas programme now as a second enrolment. I now have gold across both my Radisson accounts.

Might be worth a conversation into Amex Plat via the contact number to help this.

I’ve just hit my SUB and most spend was via Curve (& Apple Pay for transparency).

+1 – Didn’t have the Dining Local offer available so after I enrolled for Dining Abroad, done a live chat via the app and they have added the local offer. Can now see both on my saved offers.

Spoke to agent on live chat and they added the UK offer to my card – took about 2 minutes

I can now save £150 abroad platinum dining benefits. But there’s no £150 to use in UK. Not sure if it will be implemented later

Me too. Just saved the “Abroad Dining” offer but there is no UK dining yet

2 options I have thought of:

If you have ever paid your Amex bill via your bank / DD then the reference number for the DD is your card number. (Just re-read your original post and it seems you don’t have a DD setup yet).

If you have it saved in Apple eco-system, go to your phone / settings / safari / autofill / saved credit cards. Select the card you need and it should take you to a screen with all details on it.

Great news that the staff have been offered something they are happy with.

Personally, this means my US West Coast road trip planned since 2019 should now finally go ahead!

Wine etc. seems a little more complicated:

    Wine and champagne
Take your pick from Laithwaites’ quality selection of wine, champagne, spirits and craft beers.

    How it works
Browse the Laithwaites rangeOpens in a new window on our website.
Call Laithwaites on 03330 148 174 and quote the first 6 digits of your card number to order.
You need at least 1,500 reward points.

    Tree planting:

Tell us how much you’d like to donate.
The value of your points will go to One Tree Planted, a non-profit environmental charity with a focus on global reforestation
You need at least 1,500 reward points to make a donation.
Every 1,500 reward points = at least 5 trees planted in the UK.

    Choose a charity:

    One Tree Planted

Nothing happened yet, and I just checked – my points balance is still available in the main CC account page, but if I click on it to redeem I see the following message for each option (airline miles etc.)

    Airline miles

Not that it will help you, but as a data point:

I’ve finally decided to go in with Barclaycard Avios Plus, and will cancel my HSBC Premier WE card once I have the new BC (fully) setup.

I applied as a new Barclays customer and had immediate acceptance and was granted a healthy 5 figure credit limit – slightly above what my HSBC Premier WE card is.

I applied via Rob’s link of course and now await the card then start the fun with Apply Pay & Curve. Have a 26 day US road trip in August, so if I crack Curve I will hit the spend bonus criteria very easily.

Wanted to share as a data point in case it helps others decide whether to go for it.

Received info this afternoon on the new Portal changes, which I have been ‘selected’ to trial.
The thing to note here is my points are being migrated and I won’t be able to redeem points for a couple of days as they prep.

    ==========================
Congratulations, you’ve been selected to trial our new-look HSBC UK Loyalty Portal.

We’re excited to let you know that the site is almost ready to test and we’ll be giving you exclusive access to it soon.

    What happens next?

Before we can give you access, we’ll need to migrate your existing points to the new site. This means you won’t be able to redeem any points on the current portal from 5 July 2022 until the testing commences on 7 July 2022.

You’ll receive an email when we’re ready to start testing. This will include a protected URL to access the portal and instructions on what to do next

Managed to swap a 4 night Venetian stay booked months ago for $1275 for this coming Aug (Thurs-Mon) to a 5 night stay at Hilton Resorts World on points (5th night free and no resort fee). Will only receive the $30 daily credit as the Conrad was way more on points.

My recent work trips to AUS & US & triple points promo helped me secure this so looking to stay in Vegas for holiday for the first time ever for free! (married there in 2006 and been back a ton of times at various hotels).

It stacks up for me. I travel a fair bit for work and have free time at weekends abroad, so the £600 foreign ATM and 1% cash back plus the points return on paying Amex works for me.

Monthly statement landed this morning – full points awarded for Curve payments to Amex. Happy days.

I paid my Amex with Fronted/Metal yesterday – I got an error in the Amex app but the Curve transaction didn’t decline. Left it 30 mins and the payment appeared on my Amex transactions. First month of trying it so need to wait to see if the points post for it in my upcoming statement.

    Scottpat78 238 posts

Agree, £60 isn’t that much when you rack up a couple of lounge visits. I have however just taken out a Platinum Amex, which comes with a free supp card and both of us now have access to Priority Plus with a free guest each. For our family of 4, that ticks all the boxes. I just can’t get my head around how an upgrade voucher would actually help our family of 4 and our BAPP 241 vouchers. Plus the hassle of moving banks from HSBC to Barclays to really gain the benefits. I’m still digesting!

@Scottpat78, yes, it’s a close call. Both have their good options. B’card maybe better for solo due to u/g voucher. However, Lounge-key May work better for couples, as 2nd card on ac is v g value. it’s our dilemma atm.

    Scottpat78 238 posts

I received this email too. Very keen to see what ‘benefits’ we get and if anything is devalued. I’m on the fence about ditching this and going to Barclaycard. This could be the tipping point.
