Thanks everyone. I have 2 x upgrade vouchers to use for a return trip from LGW to BKK for myself and my wife. Looking to book WTP and upgrade us both to CW.
So far I have booked us both the outbound flight using 1 voucher per person (2 seperate bookings). The reason I need to call rather than go online is to add the inbound flight to each booking once allocation is released. I don’t believe you can do that online, or can you?

Hi @NorthernLass, I had a really good read through that thread but couldn’t see any suggested phone numbers apart from the US one that was closed when I called. I see a few others mentioned they had the same issue.
I assume you mean this thread? https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/booking-return-leg-with-companion-voucher/page/63/
Am I missing something? I appreciate your help, you helped me get a flight to SIN around a year ago 🙂

I tried the US number above at midnight UK time last night and they said they can’t deal with Avios or vouchers. They gave me 1-800-452-1201, but that office was closed.
I’m very interested to hear if anyone has had success with the Japan CS or any other countries as at the moment I can’t see how to contact a BA CS at the time allocation is released.

Took about an hour to read through this thread but it was worth it! I think I now know what I can’t do with my BC vouchers.
Can I just confirm what I should do. I have 2 x upgrade vouchers I’m wanting to use for a return trip from LGW to BKK for myself and my wife. Looking to book WTP and upgrade us both to CW on both legs.
Sounds like I’d need to call and book us both an outbound ticket and use two vouchers, one for each of us, then call again 3 weeks later and add the return to the booking. Some people have said some BA CS agents won’t do this, but is this still my best option?
Also, is this the best US number to call from the UK: 1 800 452 1201
Lastly, is it currently 12.00am UK time that I need to call to stand the best chance?
Many thanks!
Hi, I’m flying business with AA. Thanks.

Thanks everyone, excellent feedback!
Its clear I should avoid BA A380’s, which I can easily do. Thanks again as I wouldn’t have known that.
Looks like my choice now is AA on a 777-200/200ER or BA on 777-300ER, the AA flight on a 777-300ER is too late in the day.
I like a good lounge but my main priority is the cabin experience, sounds like my 2 options above are really close! Are the beds the same size and as comfortable in both?

I agree, it’s not ideal, but I’d like to use the voucher to get to Thailand so looking like LHR-DEL then DEL-BKK. Shame they limit it to Virgin, Air France LHR-CDG-BKK would have been ideal.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks everyone, just booked and got 10 per £. Shame they reduced it!

Thanks all, I think I’ll try downgrading to the free card, then upgrading next year back to the paid one to get the voucher again.

Thanks both, I’ll check those out.

Great, thanks NorthernLass.

Thanks @AJA, that sounds like my only option realistically.

Thanks very much, all really helpful advise. How would I find a thread discussing having to fly from the regional airport so I can do my research?
shead 25 posts
That is a such a shame, I’m 45 mins from LHR and 5 hours from MAN! Oh well, it is what it is. If there is no availability for LHR-SIN now, is it very unlikely any will come back available?
Another question, sorry, is it worth signing up to Seatspy if I’m only interested in BA flights with a companion voucher?
shead 25 posts
Thanks NorthernLass, you I right, I do need help! 🙂
Yes, I had ticked the voucher box but still no availability for LHR-SIN. Great tip from you to check regional flights. My plans have changed in the last 24 hours so I can now only travel in Sep or Oct, but literally any day or time is fine.
I can see availability for MAN-LHR-SIN, silly question, but I assume I don’t have to fly from MAN, I just scrap that part of the ticket? Is that what you mean by a dummy booking?Sorry for all the questions!
