Anyone having trouble booking Avios flights tonight with Barclays upgrade voucher? Thanks
2nd February 2023 at 20:20 in reply to: Companion Voucher redeposit – but I still have the flightssm
Sorry I mean the companion voucher that is ready to use has same number as the one on my summer booking. Thing is it’s easy to lose track of 2-4-1 vouchers if you have more than one. I could ‘accidentally’ use it 😉

Thank you for replying. Yes I’m not sure what to do!
Yes the companion ticket number is the same as the one on the current summer booking. 🤷🏻♀️ surely it should not be in my account!

Good evening. Would be grateful if anyone has been able to successfully redeem a reissued ( duplicate ) 2-4-1 voucher that was already ‘used’? I had an old-style 2-4-1 used for summer 2023 flights which I changed just the date by a week, over two months ago. The rebooked flight ( extra Avios taken and payment too ) has been ticketed and email confirming the flights received. However, the companion ticket is still showing in my account as ready to use.
I remember the agent, taking a long time, working out what extra payment there would be, and Avios because of the recent changes in reward flights redemptions. It seems to allow me to make another 2-4-1 booking…. I’m tempted to use it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

15th January 2023 at 10:56 in reply to: Non UK Debit card help when using in UK onlinesm
Only UK debit cards are accepted to pay off UK credit cards, except for Creation which takes anything. Also some HK card issuers block these transactions.
Which HK bank is it?
It’s ZA bank
Thanks for your replies.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes it has a Visa logo on it.
I can add it to my Apple wallet but sadly unable to use online.
I was hoping to use it to pay off AMEX / other card bills.

In all of the instances where I have cancelled a reward booking by phone the voucher has returned to my account immediately.

Good morning. Was thinking of opening a global money Uk account. Can my relative living abroad transfer funds / pay in cash into my account? Or is it only money from your own account able to fund it? Thanks so much in advance.

I’ve recently made a hotel booking and I’m sure I read the t’s and c’a of the credit is that it is not returned to you should you cancel. Funny enough the £200 credit appeared on my account before the actual charge was still pending.

Thank you all so much for your helpful replies. Only became silver today!

Hi sm, Your LeaveHomeSafe app must have a blue code in order to enter government buildings, including the HKID new card replacement centres. So this will depend on what the rules are at that time when your arrival Amber code becomes Blue.
Thanks so much for that 👍

Evening. Not sure anyone can help but planning a short trip to Hong Kong to sort out replacing HKID card with new smart card version before deadline.
Would it be permitted to attend the government buildings to do this shortly after arrival to HK from Uk ( during the first three days after arrival )? 🤷🏻♀️
It seems as though it’s just restaurants etc.. that is specified that you can’t sit down and eat whilst your QR code is still amber.
Also any experience of any traveller unfortunate to have a positive PCR test in HK? Thanks in advance.sm
Do you get a ‘You have just used your offer’ type email with the dining credit, like you usually get with other offers??
And as far as I can see, it is off the whole bill – ie no differentiation between food and drink, or service charge etc?
I never got any emails but the credits all came no problem. Recently used the uk one and dining abroad one. No differentiation of service charge etc… Both credited 2-4 days. 👏🏽

Yes, you just lose the £1, and get all the Avios back.
Is that even if you cancel on line or only by phone please? Thank you

Just returned from Singapore. Only one flight outbound arriving at SIN around 7pm. They served a full dinner after take off ( although it took a long time with all the separate courses ) and a light snack before arrival ( I had cottage pie ).
On the way back they were super efficient with full dinner service after take off and a full breakfast before landing 5am.

Do we now know the list of participating restaurants for the £20 off £120 offer? Wasn’t working last I checked.
I got a list from AMEX Chat the other day. If you search the forums there’s a specific thread about this offer and it’s in there
Thanks, anyone else interested it’s on this page:
https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/amex-offers-latest/page/15/Thanks this is really useful. Any reports of problems crediting when you buy a gift card in the restaurant itself? I assume it goes through a ‘normal’ till? There is a branch near my office which is on both offers so am tempted to go get a £150 card.
I can confirm gift cards do trigger cashback if purchased at the participating restaurant.

How long is it taking for people to see the dining credit applied to the bill?
I was in the Ivy Cambridge last weekend (lovely room, great service, good food), received the email about the £20 Ivy offer almost immediately but have seen no sign of either credit on my account.
Many thanks!
Went to ivy in Leeds on Sunday 23/10. £150 credit appeared on account dated 24/10 👍 ( sadly didn’t have £20 cashback on this account )

Good morning. Was at ivy last night and used plat card to pay. I received a ‘you used your The Ivy collection offer’ ( £20 cashback when spending £120 ). Should I have also received a ‘ you used your dining credit’ email too? This ivy was definitely on both lists as participating.Thank you very much.

Ah thank you. For some reason I thought there was a galley / toilets just before the last section of club suites.

My husband has the blue ba card and the old blue ( clear ) card which is a cashback card and he got plat bonus if that helps.

I had to return something I brought, how long does it take amex to crawl back the offer? And how is it labelled as a transaction pls?
Had a refund, had hoped that Amex wouldn’t claw it back but did so after a week.
Can the offer then be used again?
My cashback was clawed back but the live chat agent said the offer was still visible on my account ( not on my offers that I could actually see ) and they said to do another £70 transaction and it would credit…… let’s see….
Just to let you know the £15 cashback was awarded same day as the new transaction! Wow can’t believed it worked like they said it would
sm
Just to feedback to you I had Paypal credit clawed back. Live chat on Amex said they could see the offer still on my card even though I couldn’t on my offers page. I made another eligible Paypal purchase and the £15 credit appeared dated same day as my £70 transaction for PayPal gift card posted. 😱

Good morning. Planning to go to the ivy asia in Leeds which will be newly opened. It isn’t on the dining list yet but wanted to check if the billing would go through as ‘the ivy’ anyway since the regular Ivy in Leeds is on that list. Many thanks.
I visited the new Ivy Asia in Cardiff last month (also next door to the OG Ivy) – came through in the app/statement as ‘The Ivy Asia’
I went to that one on opening day and they didn’t accept Amex at the time – which I found rather odd! Regardless of the AmEx credit, I’d been planning to go there for quite some time.
Brilliant so buying a ivy gift card in person seems to trigger the dining credit- I suppose amex can’t see what you’re paying for 👏🏽

Thanks. So did this visit to ivy asia trigger the dining credit even though ivy asia Cardiff isn’t on the list?
