BA have strangely come back asking for documents and have provided the BA holidays operations email that I sent and proof of travel. For some reason this feels like a delay tactic as this is all evident in the travel reference look up. Documenting here since someone like me might come look at this thread in future and might be of some use.

Many thanks for the most objective response for this. I have now responded to BA with personalising the content for my situation.

    Thanks

Hi, I have been denied boarding with the template response I need visa. Can you please advise what my next steps are in this scenario on incorrect dismisal of claims? ‘We know the documentation needed for each country can be complicated, but as you’ll appreciate, we must follow all the relevant legislation when allowing customers on board. It’s the customer’s responsibility to make sure they have all the documents they need.’

Any advice on next steps would help as this feels like rubbing salt on the wounds.

How long does it take for BA to respond to such complaints on a) denied boarding & b) – Original routing credit of points /Avios.
I was hoping 7-10 days but I wanted to understand if I should keep my hopes high or low on this.

Keen to get some cash in the bank before Christmas expenses CC bills kick in

    Many thanks for suggestions.

    1. Raised denied Boarding under -> Delays, cancellations, and diversions section
    2. Called BAEC and asked for ORC for the tickets.

I wonder what the response turnaround is for such scenarios with evidence and tickets submitted.

Thanks. BA do not have an option for denied boarding. It has for denied boarding. Hence I will have to claim by filling in details. Will submit the claims and ORC details and feedback to the forum on progress.

Thanks for the ORC guide. Will read and follow up. Hopefully someone who has been denied boarding has a look at this thread and helps with a response. Thanks

Denied boarding – due to incorrect process followed by BA check in desk saying I need a visa whereas I did not need a visa. BA check in agent did apologise after 90 minutes about the confusion but by then I had just got in touch with BA holidays and offered to rebook since it was BA staff/system issue.

I book a flight from Man to India and then India back to MAN in same transaction (PNR). Will this offer be applicable? or will they be treated as 2 different transactions?

Reason – MY BA redemption ticket was single transaction from me. But 2 entries in my statement hence not sure how this would be treated by Etihad on Amex.

If someone has utilised this offer or any thing like this earlier, please let me know. Thanks

The real Swiss Tony – If you do a 2 for 1 transaction and follow through you would get
    Expected – 6k Avios + 14 GBP

After this post on this forum, I received an email(4 days later) with a ticket for my kid as seperate ticket with seat(new PNR for return) and now the rates quoted by yourself make sense as the child now has a seat.

Now I can not choose a seat for her with us(but have to pay for seats since I do not have status). Travelling with infant, seat choice is free in the basinet area hence I booked onwards and return seats. Now due to new ticket issusance for child return I will have to book seat during check in and pray the person in the counter takes our case favourably or I decide to pay for seats now.

Thanks. When I will give a call to BA later over the weekend to ask about this higher price.

BA reps – if you reading this, happy to get a refund without me spending time with your call centre colleagues.

in reply to: When did your Uber credit the Avios offer?
    sun7 25 posts

Uber bonus 250 was not credited. However received a dodgy email saying the account was unlinked from avios due to inactivity in Uber however I took a ride on Saturday. Did anyone receive this? I assume now they would say you linked only on 17 Jan hence no bonus.

Ps – crazy things we need to do earn avios in uk

I went to the Ahlan lounge near Gate 26. Priority pass – did not have a time limit for stay in lounge. Dragon pass – 4 hours which they dutifully enforced. Service was good and 4 hours was apt for my scenario.

I bought this mastercard only because it offere Wolrd elite privileges and I saw other competitors provide as part of World elite priviliges and assumed Lounge access was included.

If someone has tried, can you please let us know?
