Had LGW-Malaga booked for April at 9pm, with an early flight to Melilla booked the next day. BA cancelled the flight and put us on a 4pm on from LHR, which would necessitate annual leave we don’t want to take plus we have LGW parking booked. I had a look at alternatives and found an 18:25 flight from LGW – it’s BA8107, operated by Vueling – but BA (on Twitter) say they can’t rebook me onto a Vueling flight. It’s an Avios booking.
Is this one I can insist on?

Our July ’23 ATL-LHR flight was downgraded on the 9th of November, and it seems to be the middle of the year (end of March to end of October) with no First from what I’ve seen on Seatspy. Someone brought this up in the Chat thread a couple of days ago as well.

That same Multichannel Manager e-mailed me on Wednesday to agree that I was owed the Avios and that it had been escalated. I called again – eventually spoke to a helpful chap in the Philippines who read something that he apparently wasn’t meant to read to me. He didn’t get too far, but he did use the words “historical” and “risk”. He couldn’t/wouldn’t say any more. I’ve put in a formal complaint.

Just to rule it out (given that Rob suggested it could be a reason and it’s been mentioned by the Philippines-based staff on the phone), I checked my credit rating – I know there are many different ones, but I’m now certain it’s definitely not that. The nice chap in Brighton said it might be up to five working days for someone to add new notes, but I tried today anyway. Spoke to the Philippines who….. fobbed me off – not always available, terms and conditions etc. HUACA and spoke to Brighton, who put me on hold for some time to discuss it but couldn’t work it out, and neither can his team. He’s put a request through to the Platinum team to have it lifted. I have zero hope that that will happen, and another referral will bite the dust.

Got someone in Brighton to agree to look into it for me. He’s sent a few e-mails and asked a team to look into and explain it. I suggested that he had a flashing light on his screen that he couldn’t tell me about, but he found that funny and didn’t seem to. The person I spoke to in the Philippines beforehand said it was either that I’ve referred too many people (not a chance) or it just wasn’t available as an offer for me at the moment, which isn’t how it works. They’re sitting on nearly £3k of refunds that they took into Curve Cash for no reason. A month ago they asked for a bank statement so they could return the money that way but they’ve been ignoring me since (e-mail/chat/Twitter). The referral programme is clear – earn up to X Avios per year; which means you can refer up to X people. Simple. I’ve never referred anyone outside my close circle so I don’t think it’s that. CS (not Brighton) just kept repeating the T&Cs with no hint at why I might be blocked. After a lot of insisting, they lady said she’d e-mail a team to ask why and then call me back. I found this yesterday as well. It’s the same this morning and Chat were no help, pasting the same responses as on page one of this thread. My account is healthy so I can’t think what it could be. Might waste some time and call later.

Booked a hotel last week for £209.
