The Original Nick 141 postsThanks JDB.
The Original Nick 141 postsVia HKG on CX? Just remember that transferring MR points to FF programs can take a while on your first transfer.
The Original Nick 141 postsI have found availability today in UC on my DXB – LHR flight for January.

2nd January 2024 at 09:34 in reply to: Iberia. How to find more than 2x J award flights on same flight. The Original Nick 141 postsI’ve never seen more than 2 seats in J. Maybe one of the PAX’s could fly in from another city ie, BCN etc. Then all 3 of you could meet at the departing airport ie, MAD and jump on the same flight to your final destination.
The Original Nick 141 postsI will let you know of a traditional Bulgarian restaurant we visited when I remember the name.

4th November 2023 at 13:34 in reply to: Spending £10k on a BA Holiday? Earning Avios amounts? The Original Nick 141 postsThanks for everyone’s help. 10K for both Husband and Wife for flights and accommodation, LHR – BGI, so 90 Tier points each way for WT+. So that would get them 360 Tier points each. BA calculator shows 4210 Avios each way so that would be x4 (BAH Double Tier points and Avios) = 16840 Avios each. Are my calculations correct?
The Original Nick 141 postsCool. I did think that but just wanted to check for a friend of mine.
Thanks Matt.
The Original Nick 141 postsFive points sounds correct for some economy shorthaul flights.
I’ve just booked 4 domestics in the BA sale, the choice was £80 return in Q, O, or G earning 125 Avios and 5 TP each way, or £147 return in R/I and earning 750 Avios and 40TP each way (along with lounge access).
Given that £147 is an exceptionally good price for an economy ticket at the best times these days, it was a no brainer.
Where are you flying to and from where at these prices?
20th September 2023 at 18:54 in reply to: Post new Amex statement credit offers here! The Original Nick 141 postsSpend £800 and get £200 back at Etihad on my ARCC
The Original Nick 141 postsIt’s odd. I can see AMS at the higher price but not other Zone 1 routes like Paris or Aberdeen.
Hi Rob, check LHR – TLS for next August.
The Original Nick 141 postsI would like to know if the issue is down to Amex or IB plus? Or Both..
The Original Nick 141 postsThis has popped up before but I wanted to see if anyone has managed to link a new IB account which has more digits than the older IB accounts like mine. Mine has 8 digits and I’ve had my account 10 years. A friend of mine joined IB plus in January but his account has more digits which when trying to link from his Amex account it just throws him out saying its too many digits basically. Any help would be appreciated.
Did they try the “Chat’ ?
Yes he tried the “Chat’ over the weekend with no answers but they are waiting for the systems to be updated and was also told to contact IB Plus which he did but they said It’s an Amex problem. It’s a pain.
Not sure – I’ll ask.The Original Nick 141 postsThis has popped up before but I wanted to see if anyone has managed to link a new IB account which has more digits than the older IB accounts like mine. 16th July 2023 at 12:59 in reply to: UUA LHR – DXB upped in Avios and taxes massivelyThe Original Nick 141 postsMight it be to do with the (newish) RFS pricing and the variants thereof? Also there have been other posts recently about BA agents quoting wrongly – you might need to speak to a supervisor and get the price you think you should be paying confirmed and booked.
I’ve now spoken to someone at the BA Gold BAEC who knew his stuff. It should be calculated on a commercial ticket upgrade which then calculates to what I said it should be at 24,000 Avios. The tax element has been sent to the finance department to be double checked.
15th July 2023 at 11:42 in reply to: UUA LHR – DXB upped in Avios and taxes massivelyThe Original Nick 141 postsI could be. The agent I have just spoken to told me that they use to have a different chart and have been told to go by the new pricing calculator they have been given. I have just booked an upgrade but I’m going to chase this. My parents were in Dubai 3 weeks ago and they both paid 24,000 to upgrade so it seems to be what agent you get.
The Original Nick 141 postsThanks very much for the reply.
The Original Nick 141 postsIs for TPs/4 BA sectors? Would MAN or NCL not be quicker?
Are you feeling Ok? Never thought I’d ever see you recommend Manchester!
There are indeed better airports to do back to backs such as NCL or AMS where you don’t have to clear security as arrivals decant into the same gate area but MAN is definitely not in that camp!
Thanks.
The Original Nick 141 postsTP’s.

INV worked out the cheapest and that was between October and February. My membership year starts in March. Thanks again for your advice.
It’s for TP’s.
