“As the OP is trying to avoid calling, adding a nominee to allow calling on someone else’s behalf isn’t improving anything.”

Well maybe my advice will help all those people who don’t even know they can add a nominee, and at least I attempted to help instead of being snarky.

    OP just call them.

I make bookings for the family from my account, you get the confirmation emails click on the manage my booking link in the email it will take you to the booking and you can make changes, also get yourselves put on each others accounts as nominees so who ever prefers can call up BA and discuss bookings. There’s a link somewhere on BA.

After 3 days I found a work around this
Put household accounts into search click first link, takes you to old webpage go down to household account setting up/ manage link click and it should take you there!
I was doing this at 12.30am this morning walking it through on phone with someone who wanted to set up household account to book flights at 1am.

I found using the manage my booking link in confirmation email worked for gaining access to booking and making changes.

You’re welcome Jeff, glad I could help.

There’s no PE or business seats left but quite a few in economy from 2/4 up to 9/4 showing. BA website is so crap I’d just phone them up and ask them to look for you.

Are you putting in Tokyo to London ? Because I can see loads of availability up to 19/4/2026. Don’t put airport codes try it my way. And put in year search not month or date.

If you go to book ticket with avois put in details then use that calendar scroll right through the months and it will arrive at the latest date you can book, it’s yet another quirk of BA systems.

I have thought of drastic way to add card, make a new booking pay for it with new card then cancel within 24 hours for complete refund?

It’s woeful and so time consuming, could you do a dummy booking get as far as payment page and it used to ask if you wanted to use saved cards or add new one, try that.

The whole website is a problem, no idea if this will work but it did for finding my household account. Type in search “ add payment card” and see if you can get in that way. Which is my tip for finding your missing household account!
    The whole system is shambolic.

I actually commented on the video that he had got that wrong and I explained why he was wrong and what the proper cancellation rules where if using avois.

As a disabled traveller myself you are making such hard work for yourselves, please just book your wife assistance.there is really no need for your wife to be struggling or you as companion! Also there is no shame in asking for help a lot of people with new mobility problems feel like it’s giving in but it really isn’t. Ask for assistance and enjoy your trip.

When I went to the WA in Ras I got them to book me a car to pick me up. Yes it might be more expensive but you can charge it to your room and hotel will know what time you are arriving so if early there’s a better chance of your room being ready before official check in time. They will meet you at arrivals help with luggage etc worth the extra cost to me.

Give your teenager 10/15years and nanny Anna will be back to travelling with small children 😂

My mum is still in my household account, she died 3 years ago I moved most of her points over when it only cost £15 there’s a few hundred left in account. I really wouldn’t overthink it tbh.

Wally, you can go to a sumo stable and watch a training session. In July there’s one of the big Sumo tournaments you can find lots of videos on YouTube, I’ve become a fan off watching Sumo it’s full of tradition and rituals and there’s so much more to it than “ 2 fat blokes” wrestling. The next grand sumo tournament starts 8th September loads of links on YouTube or NHJ world Japan do a daily half hour round up.

When I first took up this “hobby” there was no forum, so one was forced to read the articles for the answers! There were of course random questions in the comments of the daily articles. Then came the daily chat thread during the pandemic.

I first started 20 years ago there was barely the internet let alone forums like HFP. 😂

I know zero about travelling to India but I have just watched on channel 4 Grand Indian Hotel, about the Oberoi hotels there, if you’re looking for a night or two of luxury they look fabulous.

I’ve done this. Added person to f&f list, phoned up friend did her security bit then I spoke to them job done. If that’s not viable add yourself as nominee on account and call up. It’s doable just as with anything BA might take a bit of time. Or you could transfer points to dad think this is free for golds or it will cost. There’s plenty of ways to do this it’s finding right one for you.

My avois to nectar took 10 days to transfer in the end not 12 like they said. I also had a claw back for some nonsense of points. It’s like they don’t really want our loyalty at all.

They have been devaluing it over last few months was 3 points per £ for existing home delivery customers then it went down to 2 points and now this 80 points. My shopping always tracked always had the points post, but about 6 weeks ago I’ve had nothing, and I’ve not done anything different.
In a side note I transferred some avois to nectar a week ago was expecting instant transfer but no nothing, phoned them up apparently it’s back to 12 days waiting time.

I also had this 18 months ago! It was only £3.50 but principle matters. I emailed them and got refunded. You can of course just phone them. It’s quite disgraceful that the IT still not sorted out but I guess it is BA.

Another vote for Mauritius, we had a great time there so much to do if you want to or do nothing if that’s your thing. Just remember beach shoes as island is surrounded by coral reef and it washes up on beach. I’ve been to several Caribbean islands in fact got married in Antigua but much prefer Indian Ocean.
