Most of my overseas spending is on things that I don’t need S75 protection on, so I use the Chase debit card for the cashback, and the Halifax MC for hotel and car hire deposits.

One thing I will say though is don’t rely on just one credit card. I had a weird situation a couple of weeks ago where I wanted to refill a hire car before returning it. My Chase DC and Halifax MC were both declined, as was my partner’s Chase DC. All three cards had been widely accepted throughout the rest of the trip. In desperation, I offered up my Amex BAPP, which worked fine.

I’ve just had this in Rhodes, although the physical card (chase and Santander credit) was declined but using my phone to tap worked .. upon returning to UK. cards worked as normal.

Is this a recent change to t and c?

When I received my gold card 1903 lounge in Man T2 was showing as available in the PP app..
Now it shows as Additional charge in PP and not showing in the amex lounge finder .

I kept the gold and made a fresh application, I was expecting a hard search but it hasn’t come only the soft search..
other than the income declared on the application they have not asked for any proof.

I only had a soft check done although it wasn’t an upgrade. I applied after holding gold for only 6 months

I assume you mean train not tube since the Tube doesnt go as far as Kings Langley?
A hotel in Watford seems like a good choice – convenient for the OP’s OH working and a quick train ride (or slower tube) into London for the OP.
For staying in London, the Pullman is by the British Library and a short walk from both Kings Cross and Euston for convenient tube and rail links.

I meant tube from Watford, it’s the Metropolitan Line.

First post for me please go easy ..

I’ve had to do that a couple of times and approached it in reverse, Stayed at the Premier Inn Kings Langley and got the tube into London ..
