Best memory for me of Pearl Harbor was sitting on the terrace at the Hickam AFB Officers Club having breakfast when 50m away a USN aircraft carrier swept past. It was stunning.

I know it’s pointless trying to dissuade someone who has Hawaii on their bucket list so I won’t try. I did, on all my 6 visits, find Honolulu very over rated, and Waikiki beach is a real letdown.

You have to manage things carefully because we can get the nod to go at almost no notice but as long as the aisles aren’t clogged it’s rarely a problem.

I flew with BA last week and checked us both in, received the BPs on my phone, added them to my wallet and then sent my wife’s BP from my wallet to her via Whatsapp. She then added hers to her wallet. pop.
