I’m not too sure about the current competition.
But I got the same email today, email said 1,200 avios when you auto-convert. Read the T&Cs, it said just 200. Very strange..

Same here but only for one member of our household account, maybe it is 1200 targeted and the t&cs not updated, who knows

Yes my positive outcome at CEDR versus reports of fails led me to conclude that if you go to CEDR you may well have the best chance if a) you haven’t already made multiple changes voluntary or otherwise b)are asking for new flights within a year of the original date and c) appear as reasonable as possible in your submission explaining why you are requesting the dates you are asking for. CEDR appears to consider whether the request is reasonable when taking a view as to ‘at your convenience’ weighing this against BA’s assertion that any disregard of their T&C’s on ticket validity means agreeing to any date in the future.
So yes quote the law but also say why you want the requested dates and don’t ignore your opportunity to respond to BA’s submission

Yes Christmas 2022, my excitement overcame me!

A week after CEDR ruling in my favour, a message via CEDR from BA advising that I would get a call to arrange flights. Two weeks later a very courteous call from BA and our flights for Christmas 2023 now booked, not all revenue options available as relying on BA code share options, but perfectly acceptable and ticketed in 10 mins

Exactly the same advice as for chip and pin – there is no advantage by using chip and pin.

There sort of is – with chip and pin, you get asked the currency while inputting the pin. When using contactless the currency info will show up after you tapped on (never before). It’s easier to miss/forget with contactless than it is with chip&pin.

From my experience in Spain using the Halifax card the choice of currency is displayed after payment is authorised (either because you entered your pin or you tapped and identified yourself via faceID or fingerprint).

You are not asked what to pay before authorising the payment which is the issue.

Yes, so you hang onto the terminal after entering pin and choose currency yourself

Congratulations! Great to hear more people winning over ticket validity issues for Article 8(1)c) EC261/2004 rebooking requests.

Disappointing to see BA tried the old ‘refund the ticket’ lark with you too. Totally unacceptable. Hope this spurs them on to stop doing that. For those in a similar situation, you can do a subject access request under GDPR to get all information on the booking and refund, and it will be clear it was not done at your request.

I do wonder if the result of your case inclined BA to settle with my case prior to the official judgement .

Good idea to do a subject access request, I didn’t but would for additional evidence in future. I only received answer today so your win was down to you alone!

Sadly we never earned miles or tier points when rebooked on revenue tickets on QR back from Cape Town

I’ve also had this problem for a while online… Error code: 7135JSO but the app worked fine. This morning when I fired up the nectar app, I was logged out and can’t log back in for the same reason. This is going to affect my avios earning without the bonus offers!!

I can’t login to the Sainsburys website either for same reason (which has a different username). That is still working on the Sainsburys app though..

I wondered if the Nectar account not working was in someway related to it being linked to my BA account. For a while I also couldn’t login to shopping.ba.com but that seems to be working again now!

Do HFP have any nectar contacts they can prod I wonder?

    john

try tweeting Nectar, I’ve been told that its because there is a difference in security data between my Sainsburys and Nectar accounts, referred to back office and warned of wait of up to 28 days. Unable to login after linking my Sainsburys account

    https://www.executivelounges.com/cardholder-pre-bookings

URRENTLY, WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE PRE-BOOKINGS FOR CARDHOLDER SCHEMES SUCH AS PRIORITY PASS AND DRAGONPASS
Unfortunately we are currently unable to offer a pre-book service to guests looking to reserve a space using their lounge access card. We do, of course, still accept these types of cards as a way of entry into the lounge, albeit on a walk-up basis and therefore subject to availability.

    This is for Aspire lounges

Any advice for SAW to Taksim? I have taken the Havabus before but want to take taxi. Any idea on the price?

There does seem common usage of Curve here, I binned mine after losing my Creation IHG card and no I hadn’t MS just avoided currency charges and the occasional foreign cash withdrawal. Mrs Yorkieflyer doing exactly the same but less volume stayed under their radar
I for one aren’t risking another card I can’t replace

in reply to: Companion voucher flight to Tokyo cancelled
    yorkieflyer 259 posts

Arguably the expiry of the Lloyds voucher is not an issue as we are talking about rebooking flights cancelled by BA. However our flights are two singles using two different vouchers and hence PNR’s. If rebooked now on JAL then the return would not then be covered on EU261 and additionally in the event of Japan not opening up by then the only option would be a refund and loss of the voucher. In view of this I’m inclined to sit tight for now and wait, before using my change rights. As you say Meta, the Lloyds vouchers weren’t extended for booking date after 31 Oct 21

Same with our October Japan flights, I wonder whether the conversation with Avios as it is the agency arm as we used Lloyds vouchers will prove more challenging?
