Noted. If we get anyone looking to sell over the weekend we’ll email you via your forum email address.

+1 please. Am on the original waiting list but have not been lucky enough!

Can confirmed updated now. Just taken 10 or so minutes. 🙂

Amazing. As ChrisC says, it probably won’t disappear any time soon but I couldn’t take the risk either as we have possibly approx 18 nights in IC coming up.

I’ve just done it and app still says diamond expiry dec 2022 although updated to ambassador.

How long until updates expiry or should it have been immediate and ship already sailed?

I did it yesterday and it updated immediately. Hopefully yours has updated by now?

    Ah the free night voucher!

Not great news that LL is reporting this… Pushing me to renew sooner rather than later

But if it’s extended to dec 2023 irrespective of when you choose to purchase ambassador then does it matter if you renew sooner, or is it a case of not knowing travel patterns for next year to justify having it.
I am diamond but have never had ambassador but am considering it for the extension as I will lose it this year also.

I do need to look into melia as their points rates may make them worth a try.
I didn’t think LXR BODRUM is all incl? I’ve just had a very quick look at their website and it doesn’t seem obvious

Aah the maxx royal…. I’ve eyes that up so much. How is it so unaffordable?

I really would be keen to hear on all inclusive points resorts within 5 hour flights.

Ps. I have not been able to use HFP for a while now and dip in and out very infrequently. Clearly Hilton Dalaman fired me up today…

And we are the same re where to fly. I just can’t see us doing flights over 5 hours with 3 little kids

    Sorry @can

Sorry I responded to this twice but for some reason they didn’t post.
I was asking which other Turkish riviera resorts you have tried previously?

We have tried the Barut Lara and the Barut hotels. They are excellent but are now getting super expensivett and with us now being a family of 5, it is getting too much.

The others are the Accor ones. Rixos and the land of legends. Again, they are getting crazy expensive now.
This is why points bookings would be useful going forward.

They are all great resorts but getting very expensive!

I struggle to understand how people can be ‘bribed’ especially when the health and safety of my child is involved.

If my child’s safety is ever compromised, I’ll be sure to make it known to management and publicise this in public forums to warn others regardless of whatever incentives they throw at me.

Day 4 now, and still satisfied with this place.

Totally agree – we, too, refuse to be bribed!
Glad you are having a good time. It’s always the case that when everything is going well, and the facilities are good, then it’s perfect.
But it’s how management deals with issues (minor or major) that truly shows them apart. When they don’t even see the significance of an issue of health and safety, then that’s another level of worrying even if everything else is perfect.

I don’t quite understand how you would use these organisations if you’ve booked a hotel at the rate advertised. Especially if it’s refundable.

I have always matched by email to the Gold specific address. I always include a screenshot of the other price and also make it clear that the room type and cancellation policy both match my hotels.com reservation.

BP- is this in recent months too? I tried once and they were explicit I had to go through the website and the new price match form. In the past, I also used the hrgold or the telephone number for gold and was pricematxhed successfully

Guess it would be good to hear of experiences where people have been successful in the last 2 or so months. I have struggled on more than 10 occasions (!) but that’s me and I guess it would be good to see where people are successful (if so), what and how are they achieving the pricematch.

in reply to: Hotels.com won’t price match Opodo

Sometimes you need to push them hard on matching if they reject for pointless reasons. They do usually give in.

I’ve had some amazing value over the years as for many years the cashback amount and free night amount were always paid on the original booking price, not the matched price. In cases where the difference was significant, it made for some very cheap stays.

Agreed over the years it was good but now, my experience anyway is that even calling them and trying to reason with them and spending time on this (which worked before) no longer makes any difference. They even say they will escalate it to their manager but nothing happens.
    I used to love hotels.com!

Thanks can. Yeh we saw others in Hilton dalaman complaining quite profusely but I didn’t see a review appear on Tripadvisor and very likely they were “bribed” too.

Thanks whuaremassive. I will look at that resort.

My eldest started reception this year so we have joined all those who can only travel in school holidays!

in reply to: Hotels.com won’t price match Opodo

I know this is an old thread but I have posted several price match enquiries over the last few months with hotels.com and they have all been rejected. It’s definitely not the same as it used to be. We could speak to someone in the gold team before too and they could look into it whilst on the phone. Now they seem unable to do anything and it’s just the email you sent that is reviewed by a specific team. I am actively seeking to use ebookers in future.

yeah, I am seeing it more and more that all they care about is tripadvisor reviews these days..

    Do you go often?
We are always looking for great large all inclusive resorts but there aren’t many chain branded ones we have come across where you can use points so it’s a shame this one let us down- I can never recommend it. Genuine service means a lot for us.

This is all really interesting as we had a shocking customer service experience here. Based on that we would struggle to justify going again as it was the top level management that dealt with us and really really didn’t seem to care. They were just focused on us not writing a negative review. Nothing about actually caring about what we were experiencing. Too long to go into now but suffice to say we found them heartless and would struggle to justify a repeat visit as it left a single child without parents very vulnerable.
I agree the actual resort is great for kids, just a shame about their customer service for me

As an update I have finally managed to book some flights. Have to say the process does not seem very efficient but it may be my experience only. Also I get it’s their first year with this calendar so hopefully teething probs can be ironed out.

Received a reply and flights booked today – I emailed advent.calendar@easyJet.com and copied in customer.support@easyJet.com. The reply I received came from prbookings@easyjet.com.

Might be worth another shot @Zara? Hope this helps –

Sent them an email on Friday and have not heard back and the flights have gone up substantially

Turkey has some great all inclusives. It depends on your groups age ranges etc. But we really like the barut collection and are looking into Maxx royal and delphin for the next year.

That’s very promising thanks! Can I ask were your flights under £375pp? Ours may be a tad more for august and hoping they will be fine with it as the chat ppl said.

I’ve noticed some people on hukd saying they have contacted twice over a few weeks with no reply. It doesn’t sound promising but would be good to hear experiences. I still haven’t received any reply from the first email. Don’t really know what to do!

    ‘Best’ is subjective.
Turkey is a large country. Pick one resort area e.g. Belek or Lara Beach (both in the Antalya region) then go on the relevant TripAdvisor local subforum and ask for opinions there.

The barut collection top the trip advisor lists but the others seem quite high too. But we have stayed at some that are just below and they just don’t compare. So I thought feedback from hfp peeps would be quite valuable.
I’ve heard good things about the delphin ones and rixos.

Zara, what was the Hilton Dalaman like? I was looking at that yesterday.

The quality and wow factor is there. The kids club great. However their customer service I personally found very lacking when there is an issue. As a diamond member, They didn’t appear bothered about anything except a negative trip advisor review. Like we had a few issues but they literally showed no genuine interest and genuine customer experience means a lot to me.
