Work Experience & School Programmes

It doesn’t matter what your background is, or where you come from. It’s where you’re going that we care about.

Inspire is our award-winning work experience programme that gives students a taste of what we do at British Airways and showcases what a career in aviation looks like with the nation’s flag carrier.

Each and every one of our colleagues at British Airways is ready to help motivate and guide the next generation of talent, and help you gain a taste of our industry.

Why British Airways?

Originality is the spirit that’s taking us forward.

That means we celebrate individuality and welcome people who bring new ideas to the table. We’re inclusive and forward-thinking in our approach.

It means we empower our colleagues to push new ideas forward and make them feel truly valued for who they are and what they contribute. That includes all the young talent who join us on work experience placements.

If you can demonstrate you share these values, we’re ready to welcome you on board.

Apply for work experience at British Airways

Speedbird-Z is our dedicated student website. This is where you can chat to our digital mentors and complete the work experience pre-learning modules, designed to give you a taste of the different departments within British Airways.

After you’ve completed the pre-learning content and project work, you’ll be able to apply for a placement. Links to apply are featured in the learning modules.

After completing your placement, you’ll also have the opportunity to join our voluntary Student Ambassador programme. The programme is a three-day training course designed to develop confidence in promoting British Airways opportunities in the student community.
