Whichever card you choose, you’ll collect Avios with every £1 you spend on eligible purchases1. Avios is the reward currency of the British Airways Executive Club3. Avios can help you design your dream getaway by spending them on flights, cabin upgrades, hotel stays, car hire and more. 

With two cards to choose from, it’s even easier to get closer to the people and places that matter most with your everyday spending. You could even collect a welcome bonus to kick start your travel plans and a cabin upgrade voucher (T&Cs apply).

And if you don’t have a British Airways Executive Club account, we’ll set one up for you when you apply for your chosen Barclaycard Avios card. We’ll transfer the Avios you collect with us to that account. You can use the Barclays app5 to watch your rewards grow.

If you’re new to Barclaycard, collect 5,000 Avios if you spend £1,000 in the first three months. T&Cs apply.

Collect 1 Avios for every £1 spent on eligible purchases, with no monthly fee. 

Spend £20,000 on your card within 12 months and choose between a British Airways cabin upgrade voucher to use on an Avios Reward Flight booking, or 7,000 bonus Avios. T&Cs apply.

Avios is the reward currency of the British Airways Executive Club3. You can spend your Avios for rewards such as flights, upgrades, hotel stays, car hire and more.

Adding together your Avios for everyday spending and your welcome bonus, you could collect 25,000 Avios if you spent £20,000 on the Barclaycard Avios card in your first year. You’d also receive a British Airways cabin upgrade voucher2 to use on an Avios Reward Flight booking*. 

You can spend your Avios on all kinds of travel experiences. Here are some examples of where your Avios could take you.

  • 19,500 Avios + £1 for a peak, economy return flight from London to Milan*
  • 24,000 Avios + £9 for a peak, economy return flight from London to Barcelona **

Important things you need to know

About collecting Avios and rewards

  1. You’ll collect Avios on new purchases, but not on balance transfers, money transfers and transactions that make up your cash balance. These include cash withdrawals, wire transfers and buying currency. You won’t collect Avios for any transactions that are later returned or refunded. You also need to keep to the terms and conditions of your account and stay within your credit limit. You can find out more about collecting and spending Avios, including which purchases are eligible. 
  2. Cabin upgrade vouchers must be used on Avios reward flight bookings. Reward flights and cabin upgrades are subject to availability. Taxes, fees and carrier charges per person apply. You can read the additional terms and conditions that apply to using the cabin upgrade voucher. 
  3. When you apply for a Barclaycard Avios card, you can either link it to an existing British Airways Executive Club membership or we’ll set one up for you. Then we’ll transfer the Avios you collect with us to your British Airways Executive Club account each month. You can check your latest Avios balance in your Barclaycard or Barclays app. Take a look at the terms and conditions of the British Airways Executive Club and check the British Airways privacy policy before you apply. 
  4. Reward flights are subject to availability. To be eligible for Reward Flight Saver, you need to have collected at least 1 Avios in the past 12 months. Other pricing options are available. Visit ba.com to learn how to use your Avios and for more information about Reward Flight Saver.
  5. You need to be 18 or over to access this product or service using the app.  T&C's apply.
  6. You can opt in to Barclays Avios Rewards if you’re a Premier Banking customer or have a personal Wealth current account with us – you’ll need to register for the Barclays app and have a British Airways Executive Club account too. There’s a £12 monthly fee and you have to opt out of Barclays Blue Rewards and go paperless for all your accounts and services with us. To access Barclays Avios Rewards in the Barclays app, you need to be over 18. You can join Premier Banking if you have an income of £75,000 or £100,000 held with us. T&Cs apply. 

Why might I get a different rate?

Being accepted for a card depends on your credit history and how you’ve managed credit in the past. Depending on your individual circumstances we may offer you an APR of 31.9% APR variable. Of course, if you’re not happy with this alternative you don’t have to go ahead with it.
