Very relaxing stay in a lovely city. Breakfasts were nice, staff were friendly and helpful. In a 5* Hotel would of experienced that the swimming pool and spa would of been included in the price. I used the spa once, the steam room did not really work when you were sitting down and the jacuzzi section in the pool was coldish. It was definitely not worth £30. I would recommend that hotel and stay again but avoid the spa.

We strive to provide a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere for our guests, and it's heartening to know that these aspects of your stay were appreciated. Whilst I note your frustration regarding the Spa Access, we pride ourselves in homing one of Liverpool's finest Spa's. A true destination for tranquillity. We are proud, quite rightly so, of ensuring every guest experiences the luxury, personalised experience in our Municipal Spa and therefore allow only residents in the Spa between 7am till 10am and 6pm till 8pm at a discounted price. We are remaining happy that we are competitive not only in Liverpool, however the North-West. I hope I will have the pleasure of meeting you and welcoming you back to The Municipal in the not-too-distant future, but in the meantime and with renewed apologises, Kinga Walsh

Apart from the shower head being loose and spraying water all over the sink & floor, everything was FAB! Can't wait to stay here again and have a guided tour of this fabulous old municipal building in the heart of Liverpool!

Excited on arrival, Extremely disappointed on departure

Staff extremely pleasant. Room issues, not all dealt with, Television pixelated and unwatchable which spoilt our suite experience. Palm bar closed on Saturday afternoon and evening. Disappoint as this was the main attraction, relaxation area and we would not have book this expensive accommodation if we knew this in advance! Restaurant closed Saturday too. Booked Sunday night, worst dinner we’ve ever experienced! Although there were only four couples dinning we were all seated in the same area. Our main course was given to diners on the next table who sat with it for over 5 minutes before making the staff aware. It was then taken to the kitchen and represented a few minutes later, we questioned if it was freshly cooked and were told it was the same plates that sat on the adjacent table! for over 5 minutes!!! Absolutely unacceptable! Moving forward we gave up on desert after waiting for over 25 minutes for it to arrive. Staff certainly need extra training Michael was very good but unfortunately could not put it right. On another note, the bellowing chef at first was amusing, but after two and a half hours really was totally unacceptable! You really need to address the issue and train your staff to communicate in a more professional manner when food is ready for collection from the kitchen. ( Restaurant manager?) Overall our anniversary weekend at the Municipal was an experience to forget.

The staff were lovely in this delightful hotel - friendly, happy and helpful. Our room - an Executive double - was smart, comfortable and vert quiet. Excellent shower and lovely soft and fluffy bathrobes were a nice touch. The bar area on the ground floor was fantastic - very glitzy, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of comfy armchairs to settle down in. The cocktail menu was impressive and the Little Lie Down cocktail I ordered was really quite delicious. We wouldn't hesitate to book a room at The Municipal when we return to Liverpool. Very keen to try the spa!

Beautifully designed hotel with enormous ceilings and walls

Bar = really cool, friendly staff but over priced and okayish cocktails - olives were superb though. charging 12.5% service charge for table service which was also okayish was a bit much. whats with the big glass table dominating the reception - is it not in the way a bit? room was clean and compact - but bathroom was well appointed with a good shower (big plus in my book) the heat, as always was too much - 22 degrees - way too hot - couldnt open the window and the thermostat only went to 19 degrees and reset itself to 22 degrees when the key card was removed - so I endured two nights of sweatting.
