London Gatwick has become the first airport in the UK to open a dedicated charging station for electric cars.

The new state-of-the-art GRIDSERVE facility has 30 high-power and low-power vehicle chargers, available 24 hours a day. The fastest chargers can add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.

It is located on Ring Road South at London Gatwick’s South Terminal and adjacent to the M23.

Whilst you wait, there is high-speed Wi-Fi, a lounge area, Costa Coffee, a Little Fresh convenience store and ‘an interactive EV experience area’.

The facility is not exclusively for passengers and can also be used by local residents, commuters and businesses.

The building is open every day from 4.30am to 10.00pm, with chargers available 24/7 year-round.

  • Hbommie says:

A rough estimate on a x2 boost costs 0.94p per avios.

  • Olly says:

0.92p for me so no real change in the usual value. No interest in buying at that price

    • Ian says:

      Not cheaper.

The offer opens up another 11 months of chances to boost if you haven’t done so before. That is the offer.

      • BJ says:

I think one of the Qatar sales priced them at just over 0.8p last year.

      • Iain says:

Yep. Just did it. It’s the same boost price, just allows you to do the boost on transactions not boosted already. Worked well for me, as I had some sat there not boosted.

    • cin4 says:

Agreed, absolutely no value at that price.

  • Richard says:

The link to the Avios balance boost page doesn’t work, Rob, or least not for me.

    • Ross says:

Probably because you have cookie trackers blocked / adblocker for affiliate links. Just go direct “BA Buy Avios” into any search engine.

  • phantomchickenz says:

Somewhat fun to see I can boost 950k Avios, but at over £14k? No thanks. Weird that it gets less value for money the greater the boost factor.

  • Chris says:

It looks like as soon as you boost more that your usual yearly limit you get charged at a rate far higher than 0.92p (at 3x)

There is a message “ You can boost another 300,000 Avios at the balance booster price.” – however selecting more (which I can cause it lets me select all 2023 transactions), then prices a lot higher above the 300k

  • Manya says:

Anyone know how quickly AVIOS points from their subscription model would post if I was to sign up today?

Contemplating signing up if the points arrive ahead of the boost promo ending on Saturday night.

  • Frank says:

For me it says that I have not earned any Avios in 2023. Which is a bit odd…. Another BA IT failure…

    • Rob says:

Said that for me last night!

    • vindaloo says:

I was trying to boost some Avios last night (before the promotion started) and although it worked fine on my wife’s account I got the message “You don’t have any transactions to boost at the moment” on my own account, which definitely wasn’t true. Trying again this morning, I get the above message on both accounts.

    • Joe says:

I have the same message !

      • Joe says:

Logged out and back in and it works – 676,000 to boost … !

      • Matthias says:

Me too – any ideas on how to fix this? Can the contact centre do it? Or just try again a little later?

Btw there is a link on the Boost page which clearly outlines the prices and yes after 300k the cost almost doubles.

      • Richard T says:

me too. Logging in and out made no difference.

  • T says:

Works as usual for me. Loads to boost if I had the cash or inclination (from Barclays bonuses)

    0.92 for 3x
