Happy Christmas to you and your family from all of the team here at HfP.

Thank you for your support over the past year. We managed to grow page views again – up 12% on 2023 to 32 million, on top of 12% in 2022 – which means we’ve grown every year, even during the pandemic, since the site launched in 2012.

Happy Christmas from the Head for Points team

Please feel free to share your Christmas travel plans in the comments. Obviously Rhys wasn’t going to be sticking around, and despite being in Los Angeles ten days ago is now back across the Atlantic in Toronto. Sinead is in the UK having the first Christmas with her new son. Katie is here but disappearing off to Spain for New Year and Conny and I will be off to the Middle East.

We will slowly get back into things tomorrow as Rhys and I look back over our year in travel. Anyone waiting with bated breath for the next part of Barry’s SkyTeam odyssey will need to wait until Saturday – but be assured that he did (eventually) make it home for Christmas!

With our best wishes,

Rob, Rhys, Sinead, Katie and Conny

Happy Christmas guys and thank you for all the great updates throughout the year! Your emails are the first thing I read every morning. Looking forward to an exciting 2025 ahead

Morning all, as many have already said, this is a morning ritual/addiction that I do every morning.

Merry Xmas everybody. P.s I was sending that at 05:00am this morning but realised I didn’t actually send it

Merry Christmas to the whole HfP team – Congratulations from going from strength to strength in readership and views. Thank you for all you do, it is appreciated, look forward to my 3 daily emails.

Thanks HFP for advice/hacks etc. I particularly enjoyed the Marriott Gourmet crawl on November 16th , not least the 1.5 bottles of Veuve Clique that I managed to polish off in the W before we had even started. Which turned out to be a blessing as I got lumbered in one of the establishments sitting next to a woman with appalling teeth, and so I pretended to be a bit drunk. Low points were my stay in Preston ( what an truly depressing place) and also in the Kimpton Russell square, which started off well in the company of two delightful ladies of eastern European extraction, unfortunately I passed out and woke up several hours later minus my wallet.

Happy Christmas everyone, thanks Rob, team and readers for their contributions!

I’m really surprised that I check this site daily considering that I never fly BA and only very occasionally have any dealings with the avíos ecosystem as a whole (and that’s why I haven’t registered yet).

I’m safely back from the S. American holiday that I stuck on the back end of my SAS challenge, after my first ever experience of the LH First Class Terminal- great space, some fantastic alcoholic drinks, relief for the Porsche transfer that avoided having to spend a quarter of an hour in a crowded bus…but not quite a first class experience due to the unacceptable 45-minute wait for a shower (being Christmas eve, the lounge wasn’t even 20% full), really poor coffee (viz. solid Lavazza in the business/SEN lounges) and clueless bar staff (no point in standing in front of 50 expensive bottles of whisky if you don’t even understand what a ‘port finish’ is).

[For anyone interested, onboard food was also pretty unremarkable and, in my view at least, clearly inferior to what the likes of Saudia, TK, or even Aeroméxico, serve in long-haul business class. As with my previous time in LH F, I didn’t mind using my miles for it, but I do find it astonishing that they can find people prepared to pay five-figure sums for that sort of thing.]

Florianopolis in particular was quite interesting, but the beaches are quite far apart and moving around without a car isn’t easy. Ubers are available but I was a little hesitant to leave town without having a definite way back.

No firm plans for 2025 yet, but I definitely want to go back to Africa, probably Angola this time, the SK miles cannot come soon enough!

Merry Christmas from a very hot and sunny Cancun!

Booked CW flights in October (thank you seat spy!) and a Bonvoy all inclusive hotel so having a great time – currently sipping on a Pina colada whilst the baby takes his afternoon nap!
