If you have an early morning flight from Heathrow, it can come as a surprise when you realise that, midweek, the first Piccadilly Line train from central London doesn’t arrive at the airport until just after 6.30am.
(It’s different on Saturday and Sunday mornings, because the weekend night tube service means that trains runs constantly.)
Heathrow Express starts much earlier than the tube during the week, and now even earlier than ever.

Following a recent timetable change, the first service now departs London Paddington at 4.51am. This will have you at Terminals 2 and 3 by 5.14am and at Terminal 5 by 5.18am.
If you miss this one, there is a 20 minute gap before the next departure from Paddington at 5.10am. From this point the regular 15 minute service kicks in.
If you need to be even earlier than this, the first Elizabeth Line train to Heathrow runs even earlier. Midweek, it leaves Paddington at 4.36am, arriving at Terminal 2 & 3 at 5.00am and at Terminal 5 at 5.04am. The service leaves one minute later on Saturdays. The first Sunday train on the Elizabeth Line leaves Paddington at 5.12am.
