Great thread – exactly what we needed for HeadforPoints to allow searching of useful answers!

I will be hiring a car for 5 days in July, starting in Quebec City and dropping off at the airport YQB. Following the advice on this forum, I checked various websites, expecting sky high rates:

Avis.co.uk and rentalcars.com quoted £128/day
BA/Avis quoted £110/day less 4 avios per £ spent
avis.com and Hertz.com quoted £78/day and I have Presidents Circle benefits (Hertz.co.uk quoted £75/day)
avis.ca quoted £52/day although this was the pay up front cost, with a £30 fee to cancel

and finally,
Expedia quoted £38 per day with free cancellation – pay in Canadian dollars at pickup.

I believe all these quotations include CDW but no further insurance, so it looks like Expedia is the winner. Am I missing something? Is there a catch?
