It costs nothing to place an order via the BA e-store and although they do indeed sometimes claw back for no apparent reason, I follow up any bigger ones and they usually concede so I reckon about 90% stick. There are so many retailers and service providers on there and luxury shops frequently have 10/12 Avios/£1 such that you don’t need a particularly big spend to earn quite a lot from everyday spend.
okay thanks for the heads up – I’ll probably avoid the adobe spend as I’ll prob be worse off if it gets clawed back.
