Nanuku Resort Fiji a couple of weeks ago – 100k/n 5 for 4. Absolute steal considering the $ rate.

Free breakfast, welcome meal, glass of champagne (and bottle in room). I think a lot of it is, as others say, just what the hotels provide (given their higher end boutique style), it probably would have felt “Diamond” even if we weren’t.

2.5 hour drive from NAN though, which in the middle of the night is boring, but traffic is very light once you get away from Nadi. For this hotel specifically, it’s an hour from SUV, so fly there if you can, but it’s much of a muchness, I wouldn’t bother with a domestic connection just to skip the drive, but I’ve driven the road between Nadi and Suva a fair few times, so am familiar with it (constant speed limit changes, speed cameras which move, police road blocks, very harsh speed humps and an 80km/h max on the open sections), but during the day it’s a beautiful drive.
