Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
I am still trying to get my head around how to get rid off my Virgin miles balance after they switched to dynamic redemptions.
I was wondering how to maximise using my 2 vouchers for a family of 3.
Is the following plausible?
– Player 2, fully booked in premium using miles
– Me and the kid, booked in Y using a companion voucher, and I am upgraded with the second voucher and the kid upgraded with miles,
all in one booking.
Is there any other effective ways to benefit from 2 vouchers for 3 people in one booking?
If you call Virgin, they will be able to put you all on one booking and apply the vouchers in the most cost-effective way for you.
I had an interesting thing happen recently. Long story short, some unexpected points turned up in my VFC account, I’ve now worked out why. I had booked PE then used the voucher to upgrade MAN-MCO to UC. Turns out I could have booked Y, because you can now use the 75k points from the voucher to upgrade by 2 classes, and it covered what we needed (UC was only 29k each). So it seems that VS CS when issuing the new tickets realised this and refunded me the points I’d spent unnecessarily.
You just can’t argue with that kind of customer service!
