Forums Payment cards American Express 241 companion voucher when upgrading to BA Amex Premium+ after £10k

    Hi guys
First post on this forum, and thanks for all the great support with all the discussions!

I upgraded yesterday from the BA Amex free card, to the BA Amex Premium Plus.
One of the objectives was to get the 241 companion voucher of the Premium Plus card, as I was close to reach the spend required (£11.8k) – a strategy I have used once before.

But unfortunately, as I spent £11.8k in my membership year with the BA free card, then I have the feeling that it will not trigger the 241 companion voucher of the Premium Plus card, as it’s more than the £10k spend required.
My account now says: “You have qualified for your Companion Voucher this year”
And because I am now with the Premium Card, i don’t think I will get the upgrade voucher of the BA free card.

What are your thoughts? Have you seen this case before?
    Poor strategy from me!

    Thanks!

Should be fine, voucher should arrive within a few days of the upgrade. Have you checked your BA account to see if it’s there?

5 days after the migration, no voucher…
I should have got it by now, shouldn’t I?
    Poor strategy from me..

Give it time, no reason why it wont’t appear.

As above mentioned, give it time. Based on my experience (back in 2019), I did exactly the same and the voucher arrived in an inferior form (i.e. the BA free card voucher — only difference back then was the 12 months expiry). I had to chase both BA and AMEX IT to fix this. Managed to get it fixed after weeks / or even month. Hopefully it is not an issue for you though!
