Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club 2nd Companion Voucher issued after downgrade

  • 12 posts

Some very odd stuff going on here.
My Wife triggered her BAPP Voucher late March after £15k spend her membership year, end is end July.
Given that she has now retired highly unlikely to hit £15k again so decided to focus on my card as she is supplementary card holder. She called Amex last week to downgrade to free card to save £300 which was handled well by the agent card changes showed up immediately on our apps and received new cards and a small refund of £6.
She gets an email today from BA confirming that she has been issued a companion economy voucher valid for 12 months. It seems to me that everything is still messed up post the changes in November.
Will be interesting if they recall it……

Is the voucher showing in her account? There are little quirks with Amex like telling you you can earn a 2nd voucher when it’s not actually the case, though I don’t think anyone’s posted that they’ve had an email from BA.

I got the same and mentioned it in the daily forum a few months ago. I waited for a couple of months, realised there was no way to return the economy 241 so made a booking.

I was unexpectedly issued two 241s when I cancelled my BAPP in January that are both currently still sitting in my account.
