Appeared on my BAPP today – £75 off £300, use by 11 August.
Happy because I can use it at the Intercontinental Berlin where I am staying next month.
Thanks for the heads up – got it on BAPP and supp. Will help to mitigate the fee increase!
Note – IHG hotels quite often don’t take payment on pre-paid rates until the week before the stay, which might be an issue depending on when the offer expires – though with it being 11/8 (on my card anyway), I think this is the longest I’ve seen the offer be valid for.
That is a deeply confusing way that they have organised the list of participating locations.
It’s arranged by country then postcode not that confusing?
Yes finally – and lasts until August too
But if the offer hadn’t turned up I would have just paid the full price anyway

Interesting how these change behaviours I had a 2 night stay booked and was happy to pay but I’m making it 3 nights now.

I’ve decided to rebook some stays at the 5000 bonus points rate – they are still elite qualifying right?
Be careful though there are quite a few missing.
Voco Madrid and holiday inn Strasbourg nord are the two I wanted.
New hotels don’t seem to feature much – neither the Halyard in Liverpool nor the new IC Chantilly are there. I don’t whether the list just needs updating – is there any way to find out if properties are actually included?
Not on my BAPP I’m afraid. It will hopefully appear in the next couple of days.
It’s unlikely if it hasn’t appeared already (or the maximum was reached before you saw it). I haven’t got the Marriott one but that’s about the poorest value of all the current hotel offers atm so I’ll cope.
Sometimes Amex will apply an offer if you contact them and grovel.
For an IHG flexible booking that is after the offer ends – can you ask the hotel to charge the card in advance to get the cashback rather than do it at check in? I’ve asked Hilton to do this and it works! Thanks
You can, but it can get complicated. Quite often they have to send you a form to complete manually and it doesn’t always go through the payment system Amex recognises – in which case you won’t get the rebate. Hilton’s systems work much better in respect of these offers as they recently started taking payment immediately for non-refundable bookings.
Ah thank you northern lass – that’s a shame but good to know!

I tried this for a Sheraton hotel recently and got asked to complete a form and email it back to them with my credit card details 😱
Needless to say..I didn’t bother
Same here but with a HIEX – apparently it is legitimate but it just feel so wrong!

Worth checking again. It has appeared on my BAPP and also a supp today. I definitely didn’t have it before.
Can I just double check…
Above comments suggest that paying in advance on the cheaper advance purchase rate will qualify for the cash back but reading the T&C’s they state that it is only valid for checkout out spend at the participating hotel…
Has anyone got experience of being able to take the cheaper advance purchase rate and paying online through IHG and getting the cashback?
Thanks folks
This isn’t usually the issue – the problem is that IHG hotels don’t seem to take payment until a few days before the stay – see upthread.
Thanks NorthernLass, that sounds good then. The date of taking payment wont be an issue for me as we’ll complete our stays by early June, so I’ll try the payment in advance option and see if the cashback comes through 👍
That should work. I booked a non-refundable rate at the HIEX near Malaga last October when the last offer was on, they took the payment a week before the stay and the cashback posted within a couple of days.
I’ve just gambled and booked an advance rate at the IC Lyon for late August – we’re staying anyway but I’m hoping I can get them to charge the card before the offer expires!
I hope that works out for you, it sounds like a nice stay!
We’re staying two nights 30th and 31st of may and hoping the night of 31st (but checking out 1st June) qualifies us for the extra 2,000 IHG points with the current promotion…not holding our breath…but it’s not a deal breaker either 🤷🏻♂️
Anyone with experience of booking a UK hotel with a partner rate which states that a deposit will be taken as to whether the full amount is charged in advance or failing that would a phone call prompt them to take it without emailed forms?

I emailed the Indigo, Glasgow directly last summer a couple of days before arrival as the offer was due to run out & asked them to take payment for my cancellable rate from the card held in the IHG account. They just did it with no sending out of forms & it worked with the cashback posting a couple of days later. Have to say I’ve not tried it anywhere else so that could have been a one off.
