I am trying to get down to Australia / New Zealand at the end of this year. The route I have managed to find business avalibility for is as follows:
LGW DOH Qatar
DOH KUL Qatar
KUL SYD Malaysia
not decided but likely SYD to Wellington or Christchurch Quantas
SYD Kul Malaysia
KUL BOM Malaysia
BOM LHR BA
Do I need a Quantas flight or do Malaysia and Qatar count as the 2 non BA carriers?
If some short legs are in Premium Economy does that matter?
Is there any way of predicting the taxes before the dreaded phone call?
This looks like about 24,000 miles so I’m thinking a total cost for 2 of 480 000 Avios
I’m happy to listen to any advice, thanks in advance.
Hi Zoe,
In my experience you have to be lucky to get a good call handler to get this ticketed properly but it is possible.
Qantas and Malayasian are sufficient.
The entire ticked will probably be ticketed in Business Class so try and find that availability on all flights… you may be able to sneak a first class in there as long as it isn’t the longest leg!
Good luck.
