    Hi folks,

I had flights booked on Iberia MIA – MAD and due to an invol schedule change on their part they have re-booked me onto AA.

I have not flown AA since 2012 which was on a 757 from DUB to JFK!

I have had a youtube and a google of some reviews although it is difficult to work out what was a ‘COVID restricted’ service and what wasn’t. And although I have found quite a few reviews on AA transatlantic flights from europe to MAD I haven’t found many recent ones the other way around.

The flight departs at 15:35 so if anyone has answers to these questions would be much appreciated:

Does AA still serve course by course on the overnight eastbound flights as they do westbound or is it an abbreviated one tray affair?

Do they still offer sundaes for dessert on the overnight flight?

    TIA

AA are fine for me. They’ll bring you starter/salad on a tray, and then the main when they see you’re ready. Deserts follow, ice cream sundae still available, and I always enjoy this. The one thing I’m not fond of with AA is Aviation gin, typical brand over content product.

I think it’s a B787 they use, and one warning here is one config of this plane uses the older Concept D seat, which alternates forward and reserve seats. I know a number of people don’t like the reverse seats, personally I favour them.

    Thanks dougzz99.

My MIA – MAD flight is showing as a 777-200 which has two variations of business class seemingly (including the forward/reverse set up you mention). Thing is, it is impossible to tell from the seat map which type of seat it is as both the forward/reverse and the herringbone config is exactly the same layout on seat map. Shall be a surprise.

The reverse seats aren’t really a problem in my experience though they do look into the cabin. BA made good money from them with Club World!

I think on the AA website / app MMB seat maps there is a notch in the rear facing seats

As to food, IFE and service I’ve never had an issue with AA.
