HfP post in Aug 2023 stated that BA Golds flying EI (even when using Avios) LHRT2-DUB-LHRT2 are entitled to access EI lounges, but EI/Aer Club insisted today (online and in telcon) that neither lounge access nor free seat allocation apply “on this fare”. BA Gold line agent 1 agreed, agent 2 disagreed, agent 3 said “ask Aer Lingus”. Can anyone pls clarify.
I think they are correct on the seat selection and wrong about the lounge access. Seat selection used to be included (though you had to ring) but seems to have been removed. I’ve tried a few times recently to no avail. You do get lounge access though – I’ve never been turned away at T2
