Activate card before arrival?

Hello all

Bit of a long shot but is there anyway to activate and use a new Amex card (new account) before the card arrives?

Other banks allow access to cards in—app with the ability to see card details but I can’t see how to do this with Amex. I have the last 5 digits from various emails but need to full number to activate.

No, you need the full card details which are only on the physical card.

Amex don’t reveal the full card details on the app.

Which is incredibly annoying when you’re away for a long period, an offer appears and you don’t have that particular card with you.

Memo to self: Take photos of front/back of cards before you travel next time.
