Bit of a weird one with Iberia, so I’m after some advice please.
I just made a booking via the phone with IB, and when I received the confirmation email I saw that they didn’t put my wife’s full name on her ticket (she has two surnames, and they’ve just used the first one). FYI I had to book over the phone as we are travelling with our baby, and the IB website doesn’t allow you to add infants…
Anyway the agent was still on the line when I pointed this out. She said they couldn’t add my wife’s full name because it would exceed the allowed character count once they added the baby’s name to the booking. I insisted for a bit, was put on hold for some time until the agent came back saying there was no reason to worry as this is common with infant bookings. Needless to say that made me even more worried!
I called back twice now to see if anyone could amend the booking, but different agents are saying the same thing about the system not allowing adding her full name.
The flight is still some 6 months away. I was thinking on raising a ticket and potentially having some written confirmation from IB that they can’t put her name correctly on the booking… any other suggestions on what to do?
I don’t really like the idea of just finding out at the airport if this will be a problem or not 😅
