Here’s one for your thoughts.
Booking Aer Lingus One Way IAD to BRS via DUB.
J – €2191
Y – €745
Or J Avios 50k plus about £130
Or cash Y and J upgrade for 37k.
I can’t quite work the maths out to see which is going to be best. Appreciate any thoughts. (If I was going to get BA TP’s I’d go cash!)
Not sure how EI prices one ways vs returns but check J out Y back for a random cheap date and don’t use it
Otherwise 50k + £130 looks good – otherwise you’re paying €745 for 13k Avios (+whatever little bit you’d earn back)?
Good shout. J out and Y return now coming in at 1,900. That’s the Y as a flex ticket which I can cancel for a voucher.
Or 2494 for a flex ticket which I can cancel for cash minus 15%, so would get 895 back. So a total of 1599. (Assuming I can cancel a second leg?)
Now to just decide whether I want to burn the Avios or save them.
