I’ve just got home from a flight back to LHR from YYZ – Toronto. The aircraft was approx 3hrs 30 minutes late taking off due to an issue with the bleed air on engine two. The crew managed to make up ~40 minutes on the return, so we arrived at LHR around 2hrs50/2hrs55 delayed.
I’m aware that the EU compensation is black and white at 3hrs, but wondering if anyone has had any luck with avios or similar as an apology from BA considering it’s so close?
Not sure if it would have any impact, but I’m BA Gold and was flying in PE.
Thanks!
Arrival time is counted as when the aircraft door opens. ExpertFlyer will show this if you want to find the exact time – just to check.
I had similar last year, the delay was just one of those things. What really peeved me was that the cabin crew only did one service because of the hours and they needed to rest. I complained and we got 10k Avios each.
