Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Amendment of a reward booking

  • 307 posts

I have a booking in Club to the US next month which was made quite some time ago, which I may need to amend – I’m trying to combine a couple of things.

same locations, but starting a few days earlier. I expect there will be an admin fee, but will BA’s new surcharges be applicable to this amendment? In other words, am I about to be ripped off? Just trying to prepare for the mental breakdown I’m about get 🙂

If it’s a new booking then yes, you’ll pay whatever the price is now

its an amendment, not a new booking. Will this still class as a new booking then?

Does it allow you to make changes in MMB? Presumably if you started the process it would tell you before you complete if extra charges are due.

It’s an Avios/Lloyds upgrade voucher booking so I have to call, and it’s open jaw to add to the mess.

Sorry bad wording – a booking that hasn’t started travel yet!

I cancelled one of these a few weeks ago. I emailed avios.com and got a reply straight away – depending on the expiry date of the voucher they may well agree to change it without charge, I have done this during the pandemic. I lost the voucher as there was just no other date we could travel, but they did waive the usual cancellation fees.

    Try avios. operationdept @avios.com

just called Avios. Same airport, 3 days earlier than originally booked, same avios, no amendment fees, but £167 extra in BA surcharges. Ouch
