Like others, Amex cancelled my card. I had been a member for 20+ years and never missed a payment. On 14th January, I received an email giving me until 17th March to provide certain financial information (which no other credit card provider has demanded). On 28th January the account was closed. I spoke to someone in their call centre who couldn’t, or wouldn’t, tell me anything. I was told a supervisor would call me back in the ‘next 24-48 hours’. No call was made. An email elicited a reply to say that they stood by their decision! Bizarre behaviour!!
Are you paying the bill for your personal account? This is just one of the many reasons (AML) that Amex are culling account..
