Hi all, was wondering about lounge access for the platinum card. If I were to get a supplementary for the wife, are we able to get ourselves and 2 kids into
1. Priority pass lounges. I beloved so based on Rob’s article
2. Centurion lounges?
3. Plaza premium lounges?2 and 3, it’s generally cardholder plus guest.
1 if you both get the PP card. But to be sure I’d always check the Amex lounge finder for lounge-specific rules as there have been changes, for instance I believe US issued Platinum cards no longer give free guest in Centurion lounges unless a spend threshold is met.
Correct, US Plats now need to spend $75k per year to bring guests.
Thanks, did more digging into this but still fuzzy with regards to the numbers.
Specifically for UK plats, the Plaza Premium lounge in LHR, access policy seems to be cardholder and 1 guest. Can a main cardholder and their supplementary bring 1 guest each so that a total 4 can be allowed in?
As for the Centurion lounge in T3, access policy seems to be cardholder and 2 guests. Again, can the main card holder and their supplementary bring 2 guests each for a total of 6?
Seems generous or do I have my wires all crossed?
For the Plaza Premium & Aspire in LHR T5, it is indeed 1 card for 2 visitors total (card holder + guest).
As a family of 4 with 1 Amex Plat and 1 Supp, we’ve done this across both lounges many times.

I can confirm that the Centurion Lounge allows Cardholder plus Two guests, and as a family of 5, wife as additional cardholder, we regular entry like that. They do record the entry against each card.

It’s actually better than that:
Centurion Members may enter with up to two guests or immediate family (spouse or domestic partner, and children under 18) at no additional charge. Any additional guests over the limit of two complimentary guests will remain subject to the Additional Paid Guest Rates below.
https://www.thecenturionlounge.com/info/access/It’s 2 complimentary guest per card OR the immediate family – which means only one parent needs to be present when travelling with 3 children, as in the above example.

Before doing so, however …. the above link gets you to the US Centurion Lounge website and there doesn’t seem to be a UK one. So the question is whether this also applies to UK card holders? Are complimentary guests defined as non-family members for the purposes of Centurion lounge access (all other lounges don’t make a distinction between family members and guests).

Not sure this applies to either UK platinum and or LHR as I have specific conversation all the time about which two kids goes on my card and the third on my wife card.
In any case, aren’t Centurion Members the one with a centurion card? So it may be better for them (still not 100% sure I interpret what you quoted as immediate family being different than the two guest allowance)

Good point actually. Maybe not then. Although I don’t understand the distinction between “2 guests or immediate family” if it’s always 2 humans anyway. Semantics.
@tbtb31 as I mentioned in my previous response, the bit you quoted may well apply to Centurion Cardholders (aka Centurion Members that actually have a different “member since” date from their regular Amex profile) but not apply to Platinum cardholders.
If it did, and on over an handful of times in the last year alone, they would not ask for both (my wife’s and mine) our cards and ask to register the relevant kids to each cards. It actually take a bit of time each time and I would love it for them to just ask for one card and if we were all immediate family (same surname on all boarding passes).
