Forums Payment cards American Express Amex Platinum – Lounge access in Mumbai

  • 15 posts

Hi, we are travelling through Mumbai airport in April, taking a domestic flight from Bangalore and then flying out of Terminal 2 back to London with Virgin Premium Economy. Given we wont have lounge access with our tickets I initially looked at the Priority Pass lounges available then saw an article talking about Amex’s own lounge in Terminal 2. While T2 appears to be broadly an International terminal (our internal flight with IndiGo arrives into T1) i was surprised to read that the Amex lounge is for those departing domestically. Is this a totally separate part of T2 that isnt accessible to international travellers – seems odd? Anyway just wanted to know if anyone has first-hand experience of using this Amex lounge on a departing international flight? Thanks!

That’s not a real Amex centurion lounge. It’s not even a real lounge. Amex has leased some floor space and converted it into a private sitting area with a kitchen behind it for table service. You cannot access it for international flights. It’s aimed at domestic frequent travelers.

Look at the lounge list on Amex website, not on PP website. The only one you can access is the Loyalty lounge which is usually overcrowded and food is predictably poor. The best lounge is the Adani east lounge, but Amex doesn’t have access to it. Unless Adani cuts a deal with Trump in return for a pardon.

2nd on the Adani lounge! The train tracks design is quite befitting.
