I am hoping someone on here would be up-to-speed with AMEX Platinum’s Priority Pass lounge access in Berlin Brandenburg.
Ever since the new airport opened, the Priority Pass issued with the AMEX Platinum card hasn’t provided access to a lounge at the airport. Other Priority Pass cardholders could receive credit at the Mövenpick Café in the Schengen area, but the option wasn’t visible to AMEX-connected cards. There was even a sign at the establishment saying AMEX cardholders should contact the card issuer.
I just checked the AMEX lounge guide, and it lists the Lufthansa lounge in Terminal 1 (Schengen area) as an option that’s temporarily closed. Judging by a blurb on the airport’s website, it sounds like the Lufthansa lounge complex will reopen as separate Business and Senator lounges eventually. I assume this is related to the AMEX deal with Lufthansa, so access will be limited to people flying on LH Group airlines.
Has there been any word on AMEX-connected Priority Pass lounge access to the two airport-operated lounges (Tempelhof, Tegel) or maybe rumors of another third-party lounge opening at BER?
Tempelhof or Tegel were appearing for months on the Amex lounge finder before BER opened. Then shortly after opening they seem to have recognised the severe capacity issues and suspended membership card access.

Paid entry into the airport-operated lounges is advertised at EUR 45 a pop. I had assumed that’s what holding back Priority Pass. Hopefully there will be third-party competition at some point in the future.
I must keep a watch on the progress of the LH BER lounge refurb so. Not sure I’ve ever noticed any difference in how busy LH business v senator is, but I do feel I can feed myself reliably in a Senator.
I can’t comment on Priorty Plus lounge access at Tempelhof but as a regular user I wouldn’t recommend ever paying cash for the privilege of using it, the food selection is abysmal whatever time of day and the whole place feels very clinical!
I have amex plat Priority Pass and used the credit given at Moevenpick Cafe when I was there 8 weeks ago, myself and guest.
I thought the only non-lounge credit at an Amex issued priority pass was at The Grain Store at Gatwick? I’m very interested in this as I will be flying from BER on Monday

You surely can do that, but a £40 charge should appear on your Amex Plat card soon.
