I am stuck waiting on a delayed ferry to Scotland. The Amex platinum insurance booklet says I can claim refreshment or accommodation expenses up to £150pp if my delay is over 4 hours.
What counts as refreshments? Food, drink? Is newspaper/magazine/wifi allowed?
I’ve never used this policy before so some real world examples would be much appreciated
For the travel inconvenience section to be applicable you need to have paid for the ferry tickets on Amex. I would expect the word ‘refreshments’ to apply literally, so only the reasonable cost of food and drink appropriate to the time of day covered by the delay.
Yes, I bought the ferry on my card. So hopefully I’m covered.
