Forums Other Destination advice Any experience of using ANY FF rewards in Central America?

I have a trip next year starting in PTy and going through all central America to Mexico city

I may stump up for some flights due to distances involved.

Does anyone have experinece of using FF points on any of the Central American Airlines for one way trip between cities say PTY-SJo or SJO-onwards?

I know Virgin do AirMexico but looking at others say in Guatamala Honduras etc.

I have Virgin and AVIOS FF points and a HUGE stash of Amex MR which I could convert to the more eclecti mileage program if needed.

I will be doing my own research this weekend.

    Thanks

Copa airlines have a few fifth freedom flights that can be booked using star alliance FF schemes.

Used Delta in Belize (using Flying Club points) this year and Avianca (using Avios though Iberia, IIRC) in the past.

Since you mention Honduras: if you like a beach, AA fly MIA-RTB which is a great redemption as it’s expensive otherwise.

Forgot to mention award hacker . Com
Enter airports and you’ll get possible combinations and the FF schemes that you can use. Drawback is some of the routes may not have been restarted since the pandemic.

Blindman67 – no, it was a Delta flight. Phoned Virgin to book it.
