Hello,
Apologies if I have posted in the wrong forum.
Flying club (return) with BA to Dubai with my wife at the end of the month. This is the first time that we have flown above economy ever! First time travelling without kids too! 😂
Sounds like a silly question but what are the things that you think I must do/ask for/try in the lounge or on the flight?
Any little tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
When you first board the plane, whatever you do, DON’T ask for a glass of water.
Ask for champagne in the lounge !
I’m sure my wife will be straight on that!

Ok, I’ll go there – why?

I’m confident that was a very tongue in cheek comment, but if you really have time to kill https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/club-world-welcome-drink/
Back on topic, if on the A380 go for the top deck, 777 or 787 the smaller front cabin is my preference.
Plus one for upstairs on the A380, for the biggest aeroplane toilet you will ever see unless you marry into Dubai royalty!
*The actual cubicle space, the toilet itself is just the standard variety.
@Goonerdad dont worry about it; inside Forum joke. But if you do want to read about it search the forum for an amusing/not so amusing discussion https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/club-europe-water-before-take-off/
It will almost certainly be a lovely experience. Say hello to the crew members on boarding, and don’t be scared to say it’s your first time. They can explain things like how the seat operates. Avoid using the call button, if you need something or have a question, pop to the galley area.
As mentioned above, you need to ask for champagne. At Terminal 5, consider using the T5B lounge, it is usually less crowded and has most of the same facilities as the others. You should take the walking route there, just in case you need to walk back (unlikely, but you should make sure you know the route). Do NOT attempt to get the train back to A gates, if you get on the train you will not be arriving in Dubai. B to C on the train is fine.
I’ve never had an issue using the call bell if it suits me but do often ask in galley or grab from the Club Kitchen when using the bathroom

Thank you – I have booked seats in the middle on row 5 – didn’t appear to have an option of an ‘upstairs’.

Thank you. I had read about the Terminal B lounge being potentially quieter. I’ll remember to walk there!

You are fine to take the train from A to B. Your flight will then more than likely leave from the B or C gates. B – you’re already there. C you can again take the train. However if on the off-chance you find you’re leaving from A, that’s when you MUST use the walking route back to the main terminal.
