Tried to apply for the Virgin Reward+ card today, but failed the eligibility checker. Not sure why – 100k+ income, no other active cards. Had multiple Amex cards until recently, which I closed to start the 2yr clock.
What could possibly be going wrong? Is there a way to work around this eligibility checker?
I think it’s the Virgin tool that was notoriously unreliable in the past so the guidance was to ignore it and go straight to the application.
I think the process now makes you do it – presumably it no longer lets you apply if you’ve failed it?
Might be worth a phone call to explain your situation and see if they can manually review your application.
