I’ve had a nightmare filling out probably the worst and buggiest online form for a long time. Submitted it and despite online evidence suggesting the visa is sent instantly
Or within 30 minutes, it says ‘sent to embassy’. This is after purposefully booking with an airline that said it automatically generates the visas for you once you’ve bought tickets, and turns out that’s not true.
Can’t find too much online and it feels like my application fell into a black hole. The alternative is a visa on arrival or full evisa using a more tourist friendly online system but that costs £100ish apparently even if you’re just stopping over!

I was looking into it? Thought the cost was also about £100?
Is this the one via Saudia or Flynas that costs $10.50?
If you decide to go for another, if you have a UK passport you can get a Visa Waiver for $40 online, valid for single entry and stays up to 180 days. I used this as a tourist last winter it was a simple online application process.
It did take a little time to process, so hopefully your transit visa is going to show up in a couple of days.
What passport are you travelling on? as previous said UK is a visa waiver and i had them several times for ‘business/work’ n they have come through within a few days earlier this year, although looking at the website it does appear to have changed since earlier on in the year! The impression I got being in Saudi is that there were trying to make it easier for tourists to visit.
