Hi,
I applied for 70k BAPP through BA site (first day), got rewarded only 35k after hitting the spending limit.
Has anyone else experience this issues and did you get it sorted with Amex / BA?

This was quite widely reported at the time of the 35k and 75k offers running concurrently. I’m not sure if you kept any evidence of the application route you took, eg screenshots, because it’s proving quite an issue for applicants and between BA and Amex. It seems that the tracking link from BA that made sure you got 70k was easy to navigate away from accidentally. Also many people seem to use blockers that stop these things working properly. Resolution has not been assisted by a raft of people who had applied when Amex launched the 35k promotion subsequently discovering they could have got 70k had they applied via BA, then claiming they did go via BA.
All you can really do is complain to Amex, providing whatever evidence you have and if they don’t cooperate, take it to the FOS. I understand they are playing hardball and will show evidence of the application source so without some answer to that it’s quite difficult.
I did use a browser without any additional blockers installed and have a screenshot from within BA account showing 70k banner from time of application.

I can confirm that we spent some time liaising with Amex on behalf of two readers who contacted us to say they had got 35k but used the 70k link. It turned that both were not telling the truth, having applied the day before via the 35k link, and we lost considerable face with Amex because of it.
You’ll find we won’t be taking up any more reader issues with Amex for the forseeable future.

@Rob It’s a shame because IT glitches and mistakes do genuinely happen in reality, and when they do, it is very useful/helpful to have someone like you who is close to the action and who is able to contact the companies when things do go wrong.
But there’s always a minority who make it bad for the majority 😑
