I fly into T5 from Dublin with BA and then T3 to Las Vegas BA again, I assume my bags get transferred to the next flight but how do we go from one terminal to the next? Do we have to check in again for T3 and how long does this take please?
If this is one ticket youtr bags will be checked through.
On arrival at LHR follow the purple flight conenctions signs and take the bus to T3. There will be a security scan at T3 and then you’ll be in the departures area.
I’ve seen people do this in 30 minutes but 45-60 mins would be more of an average time to do it.

Thanks @ChrisC wasn’t sure what to expect but hopefully will get to spend some time in the lounge at T3!!
Wasn’t Vegas moving to T5 at some point? I’m desperately hoping they reverse this before my birthday trip next June, I carefully planned the use of my Barclays upgrade voucher around it!
My flight is next May and it’s still saying T3 for Las Vegas so I’m not sure what I would prefer as from the reviews the lounges are much better in T3, I just don’t relish changing from T5 to T3 😩
It’s relatively painless except for the time taken which takes away from time in the lounge. Best I’ve done is 30ish minutes but for that you really have to get to the bus bay, step on and depart. So frustrating if you just miss one or connection’s running tight. On the plus side, a ride around a major airport is always fun in itself for those who are even a little bit of an air travel geek. I have not dohe a terminal transfer in years but now have T5-T3 on my next four flights.
Absolutely, and it doesn’t actually add that much time as you’d need to transfer to B or C concourse anyway if your long haul was from T5.
I had very carefully booked to fly MAN-LHR the night before then a bit of a lie in before heading over to T3 to enjoy the lounges until our 4pm-ish departure to LAS. It’s not going to be exactly the same spending the day in Galleries lounges!
As ChrisC says, you’ll go through security when you arrive in T3. If you have status, look out for the Fast Track security lane, assuming it is still there post Covid. It was often much faster than the normal one.
You would normally get your boarding passes for the flight from T3 at your departure airport, and I think you need these to be able to board the bus at T5. If for some reason you don’t have them already, I think you would need to go to a Flight Connections customer service desk at T5 to get them printed.
Hope you enjoy the T3 lounges.
