Was meant to be going on Avianca today at 21.40 to BOG however delayed until 16.30 tomorrow , they are not offering an alternative airline / re route . Hotel for tonight has been provided

As a non eu airline what comp are we due if any ??

    Advice appreciated

Yes, you are covered by EU/UK261: https://www.caa.co.uk/passengers/resolving-travel-problems/delays-and-cancellations/delays/

It will depend on the reason for the delay, of course, and it may be challenging to get Avianca to pay up.

It was delayed yesterday to same time , it’s gone tech , I heard the agents saying it’s due to a faulty window however that was in discussion with themselves customers have not been told that ..think it’s going to be difficult to get the comp me thinks

Going tech isn’t a reason to deny EU261.

BTW unless it’s changed very recently the catering is very poor in biz and poor in econn. Make sure you self cater something decent

I just did a dummy booking for LHR-BOG for next Sunday and whilst there are alternatives none of them would, IMHO, be suitable for many people taking over 24 hours and multiple changes.

Ssome of those are via Canada and the USA which cause their own problems with passengers needing ESTAs and their Canadian equivalents. Columbian citizens need a visa for both the US and Canada.

Same advice for BA Club World.

Ha. Nah, this made some of the worst eras of the CW menu look like fine dining. There was a preprinted apology letter on my seat when I boarded!
