Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Avios and Tier Points from Aer Lingus – cautionary tale!

Just a heads-up that there are issues with getting credit for some EI flights in the new BA Club environment.

I flew Edinburgh/ Dublin at end of August, cash fare booked on Aer Lingus and crediting to BAC. Outbound credited within 3 days but return (which was more expensive) didn’t.

On checking, seems outbound booked into fare bucket A and the more expensive return leg to E. Per BA website, seems it’s a total mess.

    For Avios earning:

Up to and including 31 August 2025:
    Economy lowest (A, G, O, Z): 25%
    Economy low (Q, N, F, S, V, L, M, K): 50%
    Economy flexible (Y, B, H): 100%
    Business lowest (D, R, I): 150%
    Business flexible (C, J): 250%

From 1 September 2025: (my emphasis)
    Economy lowest (A, G, O, Z, P): 25%
    Economy low (Q, N, F, S, V, L, M, K, W, E, T): 50%
    Economy flexible (Y, B, H): 100%
    Business lowest (D, R, I): 150%
    Business flexible (C, J): 250%

    Tier points:

Tier points awarded (percentage of miles flown)
    From 1 April 2025:
    Economy Lowest (A, G, O, Z): 4%
    Economy Low (Q, N, F, S, V, L, M, K): 7%
    Economy Flexible (Y, B, H): 15%
    Business Low (R, I): 25%
    Business Flexible (J, C, D): 50%

It looks like Avios earning has been fixed for additional fare classes from start of September, but tier points haven’t! It’s only 15nTPs and 150 Avios I’ve lost but could be more for others….
