I was waiting for LHR to HND for October, Club World availability, had only got Economy outbound on a 241 voucher, friend of mine had put an alert on SeatSpy, messaged me as soon as he got the alert saying it was now available, I called BA and managed to get upgraded at lunch time, checked later and all gone
Seatspy now running with a banner at the top of the page “We are currently experiencing unusual fluctuations in British Airways availability. Make sure to check the BA site.”
Some really crazy availability. 9 J seats available on flights to Vancouver next few days.

Apologies – I meant Kuala Lumpur (KUL). It is still available in my bookings, I can still manage my booking. I’m still expecting a cancellation email shortly 🙂

Seems a lot has been taken out after whatever happened today. Can’t even get a domestic redemption next June which would be very rare. Hope it returns tomorrow. Wanted to book in the avios sale.
All reward availability, and there was loads to South Africa (JNB & CPT) until yesterday has been completely wiped out. Only some available next 2 months, nothing from then on. Just my luck as I was gonna book my inbound today.
Can I confirm, from those with experience: If I have an existing Club World reward booking, and get a Seatspy alert for First, can I upgrade via Manage by Booking, or do I have to call?

You need to call. Cannot be done online.

(First Tim poster and Avios newbie)
My friend and I were looking for LHR – DFW for the World Cup. Two economy seats were available to book on Monday night (along with other host cities). Last night and this morning all availability for these cities and time period have been removed. Is this normal and any advice would be appreciated.
Considering purchasing standard tickets now but all my points built up for this trip would be wasted?

I bet this is due to them fudging avios for various routes to support the reward sale they are running until the end of today (23 July 25). Every time there is a snafu with avios, the avios app will show dates in grey that are unselectable (rather than zero availability) – as is currently the case.
I got an alert from SeatSpy and immediately logged in. I was after a specific flight and there had been no availability for months. I have never seen so many reward flights available. Miami, Orlando (both over the Easter holidays etc). 4+ in business on pretty much every day.
I got the flight I needed booked and have had the confirmation. I am now somewhat concerned that they might cancel it based on what I have read here but I have full access to Manage My Booking etc.
BA have just finished their avios sale and have deleted a significant number of available flights off their system – in error. It happened yesterday 22nd July at 12.00. I other words a glitch in the system that they are in the process of correcting.
Probably hired too many interns in the tech team.

I got the email alert at 12.35 and booked it within 5 minutes. I’m just worried they will try to cancel it.

I have my Amex 2-4-1 voucher and wanted to book business. I thought given so many seats were available over the last 3 weeks – they wont get snapped up anytime soon. Now seeing there is ZERO availability till March 2026 for any class which can’t be true – really hoping this is a glitch and reward seats would reappear later today!

Ah great to hear that! Where did you hear this, has it been announced by BA?
Mine is all good now, the flights have re-appeared and all booked fine 🙂

Literally checked BA right after posting this and reward flights reappeared. Booked right away!

I was looking at various Greek Islands, the Greek mainland and Madeira, was prepared to be flexible, on the islands, the dates, and the duration due to being retired. Will give it a while and hope the IT resets itself.

I was looking at pre-Christmas potential market trips: also
all disappeared from half a dozen potential destinations.I also received loads of seatspy messages but only checked BA a few hours after and could not find anything. I thought it was just a seatspy bug… Need to be quicker next time!
