It’s annoying that BA has removed the ability to search by month/continent, but the spot checks I’ve made for random cities (JFK is usually good for F; I even managed to score 5 F returns a while back) have shown absolutely zilch.
Something is definitely up. Until recently my regular route from London LCY to San Sebastián (EAS) had reasonable Avios availability for next 12 months. Now nothing until October according to SeatSpy, and even worse according to BA. SeatSpy doesn’t seem very accurate currently, at least for this route.
Cash prices also seem elevated (2x) compared to last 24 months or so on this route.
As reported by others, last minute Avios availability where Avios seats can become available 2-3 days before the flight also now seems to have been stopped, hopefully temporarily.
Hopefully all of this will fix itself or we will soon hear of another “enhancement” to the BA Club!There is definitely something going on IMO. The lack of coverage of what is clearly a major issue (basically all First Class availability, and the majority of short term availaibility in all classes) is extraordinary.
So I suspect that deliberate changes are afoot, which will undoubtedly be worse for customers.
