Hello,
I wondered if anyone could help with some advice with car rental at Faro. I have The Platinum Card for collision damage waiver and for elite status with Avis and Hertz. I originally booked with Avis as I had a cashback offer with Amex. However, a Hertz offer has now appeared to use by the end of the month.
Has anyone got any wisdom to impart about which one is best to use? I have used Hertz in Mallorca previously and found them to be okay. We’re not arriving into Faro until about 8pm and I noticed that the Hertz office is actually in the terminal. Or am I best to just stay with Avis?

MartinThe offices are next to one another, I’ve used both and pick by price. Never had any issues, although I do the usual checks etc before leaving and have excess insurance.

I just chose the absolute lowest level of cover that was included with Avis. I presume this means that I am covered by the Amex Platinum cover now? There was no way for me to not have the CDW on the website.
The email confirmation says that it includes:

An excess per clearly separate incident of damage applies but this can be reduced significantly or completely if you select one of our vehicle cover products. Windscreen is only included when renting from Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. In Scandinavia, these products are called CDI & SCDI.
