I’ve got Avis Presidents Club membership from Amex Platinum. I just booked a car from Nice airport and added two additional drivers to the booking, for which it gave a total of £0 extra. I assume that’s not correct and they’ll charge me for at least one of the additional drivers when I pick up the car?
Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes you add a driver and the website shows an additional cost that they never actually charge you.
What you need to make sure is that they do not charge you extra for FX changes when prepaying.
For instance:
– Avis says on its website cost is £100. What happens on the back is that they issue you with a €115 voucher
– When you return the car they check the FX again, lets say £100 are no €114
– Avis will charge you €1 ~ £1 extra … but supposedly you already prepaid so why should you be responsible for this?However when the FX moves the other way around they do not refund you the difference.
